Smoke? It's bad for you !!

Question: Does anyone really have a clue as to how to properly use smoke?  

Answer:  NO


I seriously have lost count the number of times people have smoked choke points on maps at their OWN side of the choke point.   Placing a large amount of smoke at your own feet does nothing but block your own view, you gain absolutely no advantage of it.

Smoke needs to be thrown to stop them seeing, throw it towards them and they wont be able to see you and a great deal more or the area. Do you see a defending person throwing smoke as his own feet so you cant see him?  NO !!

For example, one everyone will know is aztec, many people smoke their own end of the bridge, but for what reason? So they cant see you maybe, no, they can still see fine and will just change to having your name popup when youre in their crosshair.  Throw the smoke at their end and keep them from seeing when your coming.

P.S.  This was meant to read as informative not derogatory.  I'll save the essae writing skills for those with college educations and degree's.

Dumping smoke on a bomb isn't a bad move either. Whether defusing or planting a smoke screen might be just enough to give a player a couple of extra seconds to get the bomb down or defuse without taking a long range shot in the head first.  Name popups reduce the effect of smoke and it might actually advertise the fact that your doing something important in that area but it's always worth considering.

I agree mostly im often slightly irritated by this! However, i do believe smoke can be used to make these effective smoke screens to create routes to avoid snipers etc.

ie. Aztec double doors smoke close. So ct snipers cannot see clearly. Then smoke central just beyond the 3 boxes so you can move towards the bombsite. These smoke screens enable you to cover bother sniper areas.  DD and far right.

Smoking the mincer then running into the melee weilding a knife always yields good results.

I like smoke. In the right place, like wot young Red said. Now if you dozy mofo's would stop flashing and charging everywhere in clogs, we'd be laughing.
