Gone_Away

Not sure if any of you lot have seen this or know about it...

It's a documentary of Metallica from round the time when Jason Newstead left the band to when they started the St Anger tour. I pre-ordered from Play.com a while ago and forgot about it until it arrived on Friday.

As a Met fan I found it pretty intense. They go into a lot of the past including Dave Mustane (original lead guitarist who as most know is the front-man for Megadeath). Interesting insight into Mustane in that he's still pissed / bummed for being ejected from the band.

Goes through Hetfield's rehab and also the new bassist tryouts. If you're a fan I recommend at least seeing this if not buying it.

Danny Baker reviewed it informally the other morning, and said that even from his perpsective (didn't really know much at all about metallica, although had vaguely heard of them) it was a really quite interesting watch, and came recommended.

Depending on your opinion of Danny Baker, you may choose to follow or ignore his recommendation  :D
