...when I read this. I have emailed my feelings to the Sri Lankan Government (not that it will make any difference but I feel better for having done it)

Anyone who wishes to do likewise can email them at gosl@presidentsl.org <- left in plain text in the hope they get spammed!

Without being funny, I think in principle they are behaving with perfectly good economic sense, and their system does allow for taxes and duties to be waived in individual cases, at it is clearly the relevant governmental office that is at fault, not the policy...
