Unless the opposition is too good and would give you a pasting  :roflmao:
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I doubt the lag is wholly to do with the box - have you posted any pingplotter files yet?

That shows your problems start on your first hop and continues all the way to the server. What do you get if you ping plot to news.bbc.co.uk?

Doris

Yup. AOL are giving you crap routing to get to London :)

asking the WHOIS database about the IP address tells me that it is registered to Sprintlink in Virginia USA. No wonder your ping to server is all over the place.

although saying that on the server i get around 40 ping ....

i only tend to lag when the server does, as does everyone else

Hippy

to say we get routed through america we get suprisingly low pings.

i asked the AOL tech help if there was a way round this but they didnt seem to understand what i was asking. <_<
