Now i've had a chance to 'play' with the box I'm over the problems!

The Sky+ is brilliant...And I can't believe the quality of the recording!

I dunno what kind of compression the box uses (MPEG4?) - but the picture quality is amazing.

If - like me - you used to record on VHS and had to put up with grainy recordings (because you kept re-recording over the same tape) you'll really appreciate the Sky+ quality...

I also like the ability to record series at the touch of a button - and with only something like 6 buttons it couldn't be easier to use.

I recorded a documentry the other day which was an hour long, this only used 2% of the hard drive!!!

I recon it will be a long time before I need to upgrade the size of the hard drive.

I haven't used the live pause yet - be interesting to see how that works.

(My only remaining problem is how to link the Sky+ box to my home cinema system, as the Sky+ box has an optical output but I have only one optical input on my amplifier! So which do I use with the optical - the DVD or teh Sky+ box? LOL)
