Wake Island.

The AAS route was always experimental. What do you think about making the Airfield the first attack point.

Its wide open for initial bombing runs, the cover is good for an attacking force, it would neutralise the air threat and allow a break in the enemy supply route, while still allowing the defending force to bring up the two remaining tanks.

The neutralisation of the enemy air assets would not leave them undefended as there are various Stinger sites dotted about the map.

Sugestions for improvements are always welcome.

I've played Wake to death on the ranked servers, its my fav map (something to do with helicopters!).  Wake is all about air assets,  once the US hold the airfield, the game wraps up pretty quickly. When i play commander I go straight for the airfield, and then pick off the heavy armour from the air, its usually over very quickly.

With the AAS mod things are not that simple, as we spoke weeks ago when you instaled the AAS mod, wake is a bitch of a map to apply AAS too.  I've found that Wake on meathook seems to be over really quickly having the airfield as 3rd base, the defenders are pushed out north and dont last very long.

What about making the route, hop between the north, south, north, south then the airfield last. Or even north, north , south, south then airfield. Agreed the two tanks will be taken way from the defenders early on but they will still have the air assets and the airfield tank.  It would also be a bitch for the US to to hop across the water.  It might not work in practice but the US would have to be very clever to get across the open water. while still defending their capture points.

It might be good for a laugh. What do others think.

not a problem - i have done it once or twice - and during the epic Karkland a few weeks ago!!!

its not so much knowing where to go, its more 'follow me for i am the leader' and then getting shot in the face, and bearing upto the disparaging remarks made by people who have been doing it for yonks - BUT - i know its all fun - is it really tiring being an SL?????

I was tired after monday night, playing SL 4 or 5 games straight can get tiring - your having to think not just about yourself but the squads.

Also it means you can't get involved in the action as much as you normally would. On the Karkand 2 map as SL, I kept advancing forward behind enemy lines  :D  so we could mount a quick flag grab, this meant 5 or 10 mins sometimes of hiding or being stealthy - and I find that difficult as my natural inclination is too shoot people at close range with my shotgun  :dribble:

I think SL would better suit a more cautious player, who isn't too aggressive.
