Anyone want to share a room? DA doesn't reply his PM's.
Also needed a ride from and to the airport (but I think DA will cover that).

As mentioned somewhere by Delan, I'm sharing a room with him. I do need a ride from the airport though, and since I'll be coming from Garda Lake, Italy it seems I'll be landing in Gatwick, not Stanstedt. Any chance someone could be there to pick me up?

Yeah I will land in Stansted and I am in the same situation - but maybe trains is an option?

No chance of getting a train

when time do people land.

DuVeL

Let the people know what your flightnumber is and when it arrives and so.
It makes it alot easier. ;)

Mono,

Gatwick's going to be a toughie I imagine.

As far as I'm aware there's not too many people from the South-East. I am, but will be dropping the family off at the in-laws in Cambridgeshire on Thursday night and going from there so I'm sorry I can't help.

That said, I do recall a couple of people live on the South Coast which will pass Gatwick - just not sure who they were...

Train would be hard although you could take the City Thameslink from Gatwick which goes straight  through the centre of London and through to St Albans That would put you more in line with people travelling in from the West coming round the M25.

Or you can get an airport to airport bus transfer from Gatwick to Stanstead for about £30 return (http://www.nationalexpress.com/destinations/airports.cfm)

The final option is quite laboured going from Gatwick to London Bridge then tube to Liverpool Street then train to Stanstead but that's like 3 hours.

By South Coast I mean SE Coast  i.e. Brighton / Easbourne way. Not, obviously, Dorset as LGW is really not on the way  :P

quick look on //www.thetrainline.com - You could get from gatwick to kings cross where you can catch a lift if possible, otherwise a train up to either cambridge(2 hours) or to march via Ely (2:45) ... times for a friday train leaving at 1200. Not the niceset of journeys, keep your fingers crossed for a lift from somewhere!

I think he'd be best getting the Airport to Airport transfer from Gatwick to Stansted and then grabbing a lift from there or getting the direct train to March. It's gotta be easier than trapsing through the centre of town and moving from train to train.

They go every half hour and it takes about 3 hours direct and costs £30 return.

Then it's a pick-up at Stansted or a train to March where I'll be waiting with a cold beer for him!  :D

I guess the bus to stanstead is easier in terms of being direct, but it takes 3 hours. By train you could get all the way to March in about 2:45 (return on sunday closer to 3) Looks like it'd cost about £40 return. Alternatively you can get to stanstead by train from gatwick in about 2 hour for approx £33 return. You do have to change in london and it requires slightly more faffing about, but it could be quicker? Just my 2p :) Hopefully there'll be someone in the vicinity of south london coming up though!
