Some great shots there Whitey, you happy for me to steal a few as backdrops? I can tag them with your name if that would help?

Strangely I'd normally just go right ahead, but as I kinda know you it feels right to ask.

Your more than welcome m8.

I'll check the settings for the swing shot later but I would expect the shutter speed would need to be around 250 or faster for that shot.  Wait for the top of the swing as there is a slight pause before coming back down, so you have a better chance of getting a good shot.  Also getting down low ( I was sitting on the ground ) can help get rid of any distractions in the background, leaving just the sky.

Rabbi Bob

Just me and my Les Paul.

The actual picture has notes on it in Flickr (click on the pic and go there).  You can see the group of pics that went into this one here.

I took an opportunity for Instrument Wednesday to do a B&W shot with the Les Paul at work (after hours).  See Day53 in regards to the 'Cheap Lighting Setup' I cobbled together at work.

Some amazing pictures in here! :dribble: Photography does seem to be really popular these past years.

Our local papers' photographers' photos on the other hand are diabolical.

Thought you might be interested in these photos on my bro-in-laws website.  He's currently based in the Rocky Mountains and will get up at 2am to walk 15 miles just to get shots which no one else has ever got!

The reason I mention him is that due to some bug or insect the trees are dying fast so he was over here (England & Scotland) recently to consider a new place for his photography business.

Hope you like:
