I got no problem with images in signatures in posts at all.  I got not problem with signatures either.  Until they dominate the post itself.  Like for example when someone posts FOUR images one under the other and they fill about 75% of my flat panel's viewable screen.

Totally agree, when the majority of the page is taken up by people's sigs and the relevant stuff is just 3 lines of text then something's wrong.

Given freedom to make your own sig people go mad, a pic for BF2, a pic for cs, a pic for your name, a pic for a laugh and before you know it you've got a page full of nothing.    The size/dimensions mentioned above i'd like to see enfored strictly.

Funnily enough, this is a regular issue on another forum I frequent... huge sigs, or people stacking sigs vertically so that their post takes up an entire screen as a result.

I don't personally care too much about 55kb versus 22kb, but the size (dimensions) is important to me. As for the load on the server, since I don't believe (please correct me if wrong) that the bbs software allows you to upload your sig pics to the deadmen server, it doesn't affect the load on the dMw server whatsoever - it's all just your link.

The other thing to consider on file size alone, is that so long as it's a static image, you download it once, after which it should be cached on your machine, and all you waste is a quick check to see if it has been updated; if not, it uses your cached copy. Hence my not caring about 55kb versus 22kb.

Dimensions though - absolutely concur. I've found in the past that most people are reasonably enough once you mention it politely to them, and if they're not, it can easily enough be done for them :)

Life treating me great, thank you. How are you doing?

I'm still trying to get settled here and finish arranging the house, so my gaming PC is plugged in, but I've not had a chance to actually sit down and play yet! Still, c'est la vie!

Being topical here, was that the verbal equivalent of a Doorman headbut?
