... yes I'm still looking into BMW's - 330Diesel e46. My mate has an S2K and he loves it.

What year is yours?

It's an '02 plate GT with 23000 miles on the clock.  First registered June 2002.

One of my mates had a 330d as a company car, and hated to see it go when he downsized to an A3.  The engine in those things is phenomenal, probably the best diesel plant out there at the moment.  Bags of torque, good top speed, and 42 mpg!  :)

Insurance with AON isn't as high as you'd think - group 12 plus mods - 380 for me with unlimited mileage, though I'm 36 with full NCB. Still not bad for a car thats quicker than a Boxster S.

Just remembered I have another friend with an S2K, she's 58, and loves yellow... she's got 2 yellow mx5's and then last year sold her BBR turbo mx5 and bought you guessed it... a yellow S2K - she's quite mad  :D

Wise words indeed mate!

In fifteen years of driving, I've spent practically all of them behind the wheel of FWD cars of some description or another. Aside from being RWD, this wee beastie is also the most powerful car I've ever owned, and I definitely recognise the limitations in my driving experience. I'm being uber-cautious with it at the mo.

I'm thinking of doing a course with a company called RideDrive, once I've got used to it a bit more.

Did you get rid of your well-quick MX5 and go with the BMW you were thinking about in the end?

I'm sure you already know this but just in case... The S2K doesn't come with traction control. Please be carefull in the rain until you get used to the power and throttle.

I highly recommend advanced instruction for cars like this. I've been on two ProDrive days with my Rex and I have a track day at Thruxton later this month. Quite addicting..

WHAAAT!!! Man, it's not fair... That car is on the top5 of my favourites (I'm a big Honda nut), but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford one here in Denmark.

Congratulations mate!!

Expect a lot of begging from my part around the next LAN to come pick me up in Stanstedt  :D
