QuoteLast night in Molten Core, RG1 disenchanted 8 epic items. The frequency of an epic DE is increasing and this is largely due to many members having most or all relevant MC items already. In order to counter this relative waste of Epic items the Officers intend to make some small changes to the raiding system on a trial basis:

  • Each week we will try to allow one high-specced member of each class from RG1 (a total of up to 8) to switch into RG2 for the MC run (this will mean swapping a Thursday run with RG1 for a Thursday and Monday run with RG2).
  • Whilst the RG1 member would raid with RG2 that week, they would earn DKP in line with the the normal RG1 raid (i.e. they will not lose DKP by volunteering to go with RG2).
  • A maximum of one RG1 member per class can move to the RG2 MC raids each week.
  • One member of RG2 from each class will be selected by Officers to join the RG1 MC raid each week. Selection will be at the Officers' discretion, but will include consideration of existing equipment, attendance, DKP and other aspects.
  • If the RG1 member raids with RG2 on Thursday but then does not turn up to raid on Monday with RG2 then their DKP would be halved.
  • The RG2 member joining RG1's raid would gain at the same rate as RG2 progresses that week, thus not giving them an infair DKP advantage over RG2 members.
  • As normal, RG2 members will be eligible to spend their DKP on items dropping in the RG1 raid.
  • RG1 Members will be allowed to nominate themselves as 'done with MC' but the final decision as to who moves to RG2 for that week will remain with the Officers.
This process of inter-change between RG1 and RG2 should allow:
  • Better mixing and socialising between members of both raid groups
  • A faster upgrade in the level of armor etc worn by RG2 members
  • Improved resilience for the RG2 raid due to the presence of some experienced RG1 members in each class.
  • Improved class tactical support due to an RG1 member being in each class to help lead that class in their role in MC
  • An improved level of experience of MC boss fights for RG2 through experience of a full MC clearance with RG1.
  • A decrease in the number of epic items needing to be disenchanted.
  • No DKP bias to those taking part.
  • This system will not mean an RG2 member blocks an RG1 member from getting a place in the RG1 raid as the RG2 member will be 'swapped' with an RG1 member who was already in the RG1 raid.

Yeah, I had the pleasure of being in the RG1 raid yesterday and I just loved it... got to kill Domo and Raggy for the first time  :D

One small question though... since I am locked inside MC with RG1 and MC cleared... that would mean I cannot raid with RG2 on Monday's MC run... and subsequently miss out on DKP for that day? or will I still get DKP when I am online during the entire RG2 raid on Monday?

Afaik, you'll only get the DKP of the raids you actually took part in, which means that you wont get DKP for what happens in RG2.

If you read a bit closer in the post that TL made, you'll see this:
QuoteThe RG2 member joining RG1's raid would gain at the same rate as RG2 progresses that week, thus not giving them an infair DKP advantage over RG2 members.
I guess that explains your question :)

So don't listen to Sinap, cause he is wrong most of the time anyway :narnar:

Aye, but I thought that that would just be for the raid I actually did with RG1 on Thursday.

And I was just wondering about coming Monday since RG2 will be raiding MC and I won't. But thanks for the explanation (Tan explained it to me in-game as well).

Whilst you attended the RG1 rtaid on Thursday you got no DKP for it.  You will however receive DKP for the RG2 Thursday and Monday raids, thus you will see no DKP difference.

This idea has been around for a month now but to date the Officers have seen very few people take us up on the offer.

So the question I would like to pose to people is Why?

For the sake of research, please post below and try to give some answers  to the below questions as to why this swapping system has not been used more often?

Questions:
Would you personally be happy to use this option?
If no, then what specifically has stopped you from using it in the past?
What specifically would make using this raid flexibility more likely for you?

Member feedback is welcomed.

It might be that I misunderstand a bit here, but I thought this was more of something that the Officers just were going to "make happen", and not something members needed to sign up for (apart from those Guardians you need to swap from RG1 - which I think there are at least some of who have what they need from MC).  I thought it was more like you're going say "today it's 's and 's turn to join RG1 for MC"
