I have thanks Sheepy but having a door on the front of my pc case means that I can't have a controller that has sticky out buttons and switches, hence the watercooling option. My cpu fan is already variable speed as it has its own thermal probe and adjusts its speed accordingly.

Hmm I can see a watercooling kit being bought out of the redundancy money. Was it easy to fit Stryker?

Yeah it was easy..... a whole new world of knowledge tho.... anyone can fit a WC rig up badly, it takes some practice to do a good job tho :-)  You need to have your witts about you, however once done its as safe as houses.

If I were doing it again I've have a FULL tower case and a large rad in the roof, one that takes 3 120mm fans.  Chances are while idle I could turn off all the fans and just let convection do its job.  While busy I've give the three fans just enough juice to get em turning and still be at temps equiv to air cooled noisy systems.

Hmmm I'll have to give very careful thought as to where to mount the radiator.

GFK what case have u got?

if its antec or chieftec then the PC-mods one fits in. i have a chieftech and it fits fine

and its a lot cheeper the water cooling

my switches are aprox 12/13mm long. if that helps, it still might fit although i have never seen that case in reallife so iu dont no
