Quote from: Neff;158082Why change something that works so good? The only flaws i've seen has been from players.

Well if it has that flaw it isn't neccesarily that good.. there are 40 ppl in a Raid and thats 40 ppl with somewhat different thoughts about who needs what, when and why.. But then again, this is a discussion which have been brought up, ended and revived quite a lot of times no matter what loot-system is used. The day pigs can fly (and no pig-tossing doesn't count here :narnar: ) someone might be able to invent a system without flaws and with 40 ppl all saying 'yay, great system', but I can't see that happening.
RG1 is functioning fine atm with the current system, altho some ppl aint happy about it, most ppl accept it.

I kinda understand Keisukes frustration as he've wanted that sword for a long time and lots of others have been in front of him. Not saying thats a good reason for leaving, just saying I understand his frustration.

@ Daedaleus: Yes he is new (altho not that new, which imho, doesn't matter wether you are or not), and yes he can save DKP.. He has saved DKP, but as he is new he got a lot of catching up to do.. and I don't think you can compare the rogue-thingy from RG2 to this one (how similar they might be) as the two raid-groups doesn't, afaik, use the same system.. Saving DKP is ofc the way to go, but the RG1 system is built more up around the ppl's common sense than the DKP..

Anyways as Im lousy at getting my oppinion out correctly Ill just stop here and hope you get my point. I understand both sides in this discussion.. Im trying to keep myself neutral, I just don't like flaming no matter the reasons (with Huntyoudown as an exception)..
great system, many ppl, many oppinions..

Last time this discussion was up I think it ended with a tie, so I believe it well end like that again.. Leave it, say bye to Keisuke and move on.. Thats what I would recommend.. Flaming gets you nowhere :huggy:

Keisuke

I agree with Nefertem, all this is getting to is, saying all newcomers are not allowed for "proper" loot since there is no way of them getting more dkp then the older members, then whats the point?
What most of u are saying, u should join for the fun of the raid? yes, that mostly it but u really think newcomers would join for that or is it just for class based loots that they joined?
After they have there class loots, they would know that there is no way for them to get the rest of the good loots because they would be lower on dkp then most of the raid so . . . they would leave since SoG is the only raid group on the server using this system. And using this advantage of epics and teir 2, they would easily get into other guilds.

So, maybe u get lucky getting a few members which don't mind for a bit but, u cannot honestly think u would be able to keep a stable raid group.

Come on Keisuke,

you will get better loot.....no need to leave for loot..... communication is the key.....

Leaving will not change the loot thing as you say, so stay and make a difference..... that's dedication.

here wee go again.... omg

Padding

Rogues complaining about hunters stealing loot. Paladins complaining about warriors getting their loot. Warriors complaining about everybody else stealing their loot, and lately we have people quitting the guild because of rogues stealing rogue loot ?!?!?! :g:

If there is 40 people in the raid, there is AT LEAST 40 different opinions about who should get what loot, when and why. To leave the guild based on your own opinion on the loot is both immature and egoistic.

Being in SOG is a Teamwork effort and that should mean that you should be considerate about what other people want, and at least try to talk to the guild members before just doing /gquit

I cant stress this enough.... LOOT IS BONUS and should NOT be base for your performance in the guild and even though you dont get exactly what you want, when you want it, you should try to make an effort to see things from the other persons sides in the guild. Thats the least you can do

Nefrion

I some what agree with Keisuke here. It IS about the loot. It IS about improving your character and /flex in IF afterwards! :norty:

And no the loot is not the bonus- it is the objective! Would you dedicate 3 nights a week to down bosses that only drops G?

Please stop being so god damn self-righteous! Padding I remember how you moaned when Deadalus got the Red Dragonscale Protector. :eyebrow:

Another thing is to leave because you do not get the loot you desire. Yes it may be frustrating. Will it drop again? (rhetorical)

People keep posting these complaints on the forums because they arent satisfied with the current system. Some leave some gets it out of their system and moves on. IMO you made the wrong choice here Keisuke.

I think:

1) If you are not first on DKP, you cannot expect to get the loot.

2) Making lootchannels etc whatever might make the occational hunter that wants a "rogue" sword NOT bid on it because he/she knows ppl will make a scene over it.

DKP is KING!
Everything else is just ppl being super kind and passing or you being super lucky.

Stop the moan, save your dkp for the stuff you want. Nothing is free.
Got something to say? Then say it to _me_.

That's a joke. I'm not that loot focused. I just find it weird that we never gotten this drop ever

Luthor

The DKP will always be flawed. thats why the officers already have taken improvements to the system, in the shape of separate DKP pools.

No it isent... thats just LAME!
I aswell as others have been trying to improve and passed stuff to others. But when i realy want an items why dont others pass?
Well they have more dkp they have earned it themselve, so why bother?
Ever since i started raiding there has been some certains things i have been wanting for a long time, and what i think that can suite a warrior more then a pally, it goes to a pally due to dkp?
Pally's like warriors can use plate and do dsp, if they need it there must be a reason, like in this situation where bastet needed the sword.

Again i cant belive that peopple get mad or /gquit just because an item. Why cant you just be happy that you'r commrade got the upgrade and wait for it to drop again!?

In by far the most cases that is also what happens, but sometimes some people feels passed by one time to many a gets enough, as was the case with Keisuke I suppose

Dont get me wrong here. It IS about the loot! Thats what your post was all about Yrthal- wanting loot.

Another thing is if you are getting mad if you do not get what you want or think is rightfully yours. Now THAT is LAME!

Well.. who is to decide what items is right for who? People got different oppinions about which items are 'rightfully' who's, and thats where it sometimes goes wrong..

As long it isn't class loot all can go for it.......I myself always skip on + to healing and damage.....as it is for casters, but that's just me.

And tbh SoG isn't the only guild that uses this dkp systen....
