I've done a lot of thinking on this, and I really mean a lot.

First of all, I would like to thank you all for sticking by me, and by the guild. It's been a fantastic experience and a lot of fun. I'm also verry proud to see the Silver Oak Guardians formed into a succsessfull guild on the raiding front, after starting purly as a social guild. Especially I would like to thank Teaelle for everything he has done, and all his guidance. You have all been of great help though and you should know that I don't think it would have been the same guild without every one of you.

In the end though, I have decided to resign as Guild Master of our lovely guild, and take up a Soldier spot as of Tuesday after the raid. This is a hard dissision for me, but I believe I need to take a break from responsibility and the 'pressure' of being GM and an officer. Also I am uncertain how much I will be able to commit to the game after new years. I have been planning to move to Bergen with my girlfriend at some point, and I really feel entraped by this game at the moment, and I feel it is holding me back. I won't leave the game entirely though, and I will be around BC for some chats and laughs.

Finally, I give you this as a heads up, so you can decide amongst yourselves who should pick up where I leave.
Appologies for my words not being as clear as I would want them to be.

PS: Is there like a GM retirement fund? :flirty:

Really sorry to hear this, but also understand you perfectly. This game does entrap you, and the more responsiblity you have the more you are "trapped". I wish you best of luck on your move to Bergen with you girlfriend and hope you find a hobby to replace the great amount of time that was spent on wow :)
Glad you are sticking around for TBC, as it will bring greatly fun :)

Wow, this is a body blow   What can I say, I am greatly saddened that you are stepping down, but understand the reasons for your decision.  I am also pleased though that you'll be sticking around in TBC - and that you might get laid more in the New Year :norty:  GL with the move to Bergen! (Siff, I think that the 'getting laid' bit might be the hobby he was looking for)

Vargen, you'll be sorely missed both as GM & Officer and as a raider.  We (the officers) spend so much time together that even though I have never met you I consider you a friend and it's a sad day when your friend decides to move on.

With apologies for bringing administrative matters into this thread, but as an aside, I think it would be best if this news is not announced to the Members just yet until the officers have recovered from the shock and decided how best to proceed.  I'd therefore like to suggest a fairly urgent meeting to get the discussion started.  I'll try to make sure I am online tonight in this respect in case that is when it happens.  Vargen, are you ok to carry the mallet a few days longer until options are discussed?

That is the reason why this is the only news I plan to spread about it just yet.
