why Genesis??

At the end of the day, its turning into SoG RG1, only with a different name.  The same problems they faced here will face them there - a new name won't inspire people to change their behaviour.

Lucian, first of all, the amount of people in Genesis yes is a lot of RG1 but not everyone, some are X soggy's, some are from different guilds.

Whoever told you the problems we had that made us leave was entirely a SoG issue was wrong, i myself left to start over, try something new, with some new people and some old, a fresh start.

Genesis has a completely different guild/raiding structure then SoG, not that i hated sog's at all and you know that! But its always fun to try out something new.

So please dont keep judging the people that left for Genesis. Its their game, its their decission, to make a change in their game.

Here goes another try..

Anyways, I understand that some ppl want to get a fresh start to a fresh game,  (TBC) with a tight bunch of ppl they know are dedicated, and consider friends.
To some SoG probably has changed alot, from being a closely-knit group, ready to take on some challenges together, to a big mumblejumble of ppl they don't really know.
So to form a group of dedicated ppl of whom they know quite a few, sharing the same dedication and ambition, is to me highly understandable.
That could likely go for me as well.

But as to what I have in plans, I don't really know. I'll wait and see how things develop, and what my alternatives will be at the time.
I've never been really good at forming close "relationships" in WoW, probably 'coz im not chatting, whispering a whole lot.

The ppl I feel I know best, is mostly the Danes from the former NG guild, who joined SoG to form RG2. And that is because i now and then get on the VT server to say hello.
If all of them left for something else, and I was sitting behind with a bunch of ppl I pretty much only knew the names of from raidchat, ofc I would seriously consider moving with them, if I was given the opportunity ofc.

But for the time being, I'm definately staying in SoG, but I will not and can not promise I'll stay FOREVER.
It's all comes down to how things will develop in TBC.

Now, i probs dont have much to do in this thread, but i know quite alot about this new genesis guild and their reasons for starting it since i talk quite alot with kregoron (my brother) and this pretty much happened to my own guild aswell.

It's obvious many SoG do not understand why so many RG1 are leaving, this can be somehow explained if i copy paste something from my own writeup when we split up in my old guild, Mortalis. Atleast, this is afaik also how many of the members from RG1 felt when they left.

I'll be leaving Mortalis along with a bunch of other people. Now I know there's quite some time to TBC left, but it wouldn't be "fair" to not make our plans clear asap. We're doing this because we want to try and create a small TBC guild. I'm personally both looking forward to it, but also sad because there's simply not room for everyone who's in Mortalis atm.

We really dont want to leave behind the people we have worked hard with and befriended, almost everyone contributed to Mortalis, but we felt that the way the guild currently works is not a construction we can blindly take into TBC and be a succesful guild there. Blizzard has forced many guilds to review their structure as we downsize from 40 to 25, this is completely unfair on those who have to choose their future in wow and what they want from the game. For us, hardcore raiding, progress and no compromise is what we aim to achieve in our new guild.

We would rather start anew with our ideas and our ways, without having to radically change Mortalis to our way.[/U]

The last thing is very important cos I guess thats pretty much exactly what the ppl who left for Genesis was thinking!

It's not a stranger guild. Most of the people thats left have been with Mene/vore/Torir since the start, or since they came.

Obviously theese 3 are "loved" in sog, when they left because of a misunderstanding(or an rule i cant remember) alot of ppl were thinking "WHy bother?" because they werent in the guild.

They are dreamers, oh yes they are. They all have their opinions and how they can make things better. Im fairly sure they dont know how to handle things once they are the ones that have to consider everyones` demands and wishes when it comes to raiding.
 
The idea of putting together a guild basing it only by 2 things, they are "good" players and they have alot of time playing wow.
 
The fact that every player in Genesis doesnt have anything other to do than to poke at their pimples and ignoring school besides playing makes them all screwups that cant exist in a structured guild society. So they make their own society, a society of pimple nerds (not the educated nerd, just the screw-school-play-games nerd). This not only drastically reduces the social part of the game (Well, I guess the PTA meetings will be some kind of RL social life) but it narrows things down to such a elitist "I am number one" kind of guild that everyone in the guild will compete both on damage/healing terms but also on being the boi with the most support in the guildies. This guild will just be a series of military coups(spelling?).

You cant do **** on your own and it is a waiting catastrophe. The feeling that gets some guys to gather in some kind of elitist guild is thinking "omg I AM LEET". Well, you should stick to playing tic-tac-toe because wqinning or loosing is all you care about. freaks.

Im sorry addy but you really should get a clue before you post things like that. Youd only have to look at the introductions thread on the genesis forum to see that out of all the pimple faced nerds theres only three or four that are actually still in school.

I dont think you even know WHO is joining Genesis. I dont think some of your old friends from home would take to kindly to what you said.

You didnt get a single thing right in that post. It's not even mene and vore's guild. Genesis isnt an "elitist" guild any more than SOG RG1 was an elitist guild a year ago. The majority of people in Genesis are old friends from around that time.

I would like for everyone to calm down, while i dont like this many ppl going for genesis, i would still very much like to keep them as friends, not enemys, and ask that all of you threat members of genesis with the respect they should have earned from you, after raiding with us for the better part of the game since launch. Ppl pay for this game, and should be intitled to thier own choises, eventhough those might not be preferd by you.
