Idea from Lucian/Bob

I recieved the following PM from lucian, feel free to discuss.

Well this is a good thing - causes no harm(unless some members that feel that they contribute just as much today and shouldnt be under this rank either...) But if we do this what is the next? We will have to devide raiders into 3 groups or something? Those who raided under Theodwyn(whoever that is) Those raided in RG1 under TL, Rg2 under DA and.....
Its a nice tribute idea but i think it server no purpose and might hurt more than it does good...

I like the idea of showing respect to "old" members who's still inguild but not currently connected to a RG. But will be kinda hard to manage. But really like the idea.

Veteran rank has my support.

Saz just so you know you wouldnt be considered as veteran member neither will any other who joined about a year ago - and i like to see myself as one that contribute alot to this guild and perhaps other common members feel the same and that might seem odd to them that some are of a different rank?

The idea is good, but I agree with Siffredi. People might feel it's not fair.
And maybe it will devide the guild even more then it already is? What we need to do is to try to unite the guild. It is a difficult task because the guild has grown so insanly large.

It would've been a good idea if things were different, but right now I do not believe it is. At least we should plan it really carefully before doing anything.

Good idea but will have to agree with Siff, this could divide the guild even more and that's is not what we need atm.

Maybe we instead need to think over what Bob have said in Battle Plan part 3: To TBC-Raids and beyond!

Well its thier idea, but that dont say we cant modify to a slightly later date, say erm RG2 start? And i agree on that we need to take action on what bob said in the other thread, but first id like it to sit for a bit longer and have some more members comment.

It seems like most say that its not the best thing to do Bastet since it might split up members... So id say lets not do that at all and it seems that several FMs agree no? (Regarding veteran status)

I understod it like this;

Veteran status is given out to those who no longer will want a RG spot, but still remain in the guild. So they get veteran status, which is the title and nothing else. This is only given out to the 'old people..' But if they want to raid, I dont think they should have a 'special status' over other RG members.

And as Siffredi said, Id like to see myself as one of those who contributed a lot to SoG, and special RG2.

So if they are looking for more that stated above, I dont like it.

well, it will work as sazgul says, but not otherwise. raiding vets could apply to vet rank if they retire, that sounds like a nice plan. asuming ofc they raided for any lenght of time.

Well i cant see what the "fuss" is about. its just a title and nothing else.. the only thing it means is that you have been in the guild for long time.
