Well how is it?  To be honest I am probably going to run out and buy now, I was a massive DAoC fan so anything by the same company is going to at least get a go from me.. being a big Warhammer fan too, this game should be great. :)

Ok, so I just bought this game, and I'd love to tell you how good it is, but the captcha system on the account registration site appears to be broken and so I can't register an account.

After playing so many MMOs, you would think I would learn not to try a new one at release. :eyebrow:

Edit: Okay, finally got my account registered (neither FF nor Chrome would do it properly - had to install IE7. However, I think it may be the flash plugin at fault, as IE7 got the latest flash plugin installed but FF and Chrome don't.  If you get problems try updating Flash first.)

Now just 822MB of updates to download...

Somewhat like WOW in look. Not as easy to know what to do and where to go.

WAR is about War. Right from the start you are required to fight the enemy either players or NPC's. Everything is linked to the over arching battle between your faction and your enemies. For me that is Dwarves v Orcs. There is world PvP, instanced scenarios (WOW = battlegrounds), public quests (WOW =  group quests) and simple PvE. But regardless everything you do adds towards your factions control of the battleground. And all your actions get you various types of points to spend on abilities, skills and WOW like talents. You can go from Lv 1 to 40 without doing a single PvE quest or if you like without doing a single PvP battleground. The game though really tries to get you to play with other  people. All the crazy content is best done and in some cases only posible in a group. Apart from the steep learning curve I'm loving the game... so far. Also a very smooth launch was a nice change.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Mjolner

Yeh, im in as well.. Got into the head start, but haven't played after the "real" launch, 'cause i've been to France.. Just got home an hour ago..

Anyways, i haven't played an MMO since i quit WoW (approx 1.5 years ago), but so far it seems good fun to me.

My highest lvl is still only 9, as far as i remember.
Heh, it's Mjolner, my old WoW main, come back to life in a new world.. :)

So what server / faction is everyone on?

I made a high elf, can't remember which server but I'm not too attached to him yet. Might try out some other races.

I'm on Eltharion, got a lvl 10 Bright Wizard.  Haven't had much time to play but I definitely like some aspects more than WoW.

- Constant meaningful PvP is cool.
- The Public Quests are like instances but cooler.

PadawanUK

Only played out the 1-month freebie, some time back..
