The averge age depends on how you work it out doesn't it?

Mean, Medium and Mode or something like that?  My son (yeah yeah yeah my son!) did this at school.

I'm trying to remember how you work it out.

I think it's:

MEAN
I think this one is where you take all the ages and add them up then divide by the total number in the survey.  This is hard cos we don't actually know each individual age cos they are in groups.  Taking the middle number from each group and multiplying by the number in the group is one way of doing it.  Then do the division by the total thing.

This would mean the average age is:

23.5 ish


MEDIUM
This being the 'middle' number of the survey and not a good way of doing it cos the middle has been pre-defined.

If you did it this way, the average age would be:

35/36 ish


MODE

I believe mode is the most popular number quite simply.  Which would mean the average age is:

21-25
