I got that sort of message once when I was testing my insim add-on. It was bit mystic at first. Then I relialized the server was in demo mode and me in S2 (or vice versae). Anyway this happens easily if you use the directly join server mode where you can give the IP. You often forget to check what mode (Demo, S1 or S2) your game is. To fix this make sure you have selected S2 of the 3 buttons in the multiplayer screen.
