My first two movies are here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/Romus74

It would be lovely to make more of them, but it's too much work to do it alone. Since I have the Fraps license, I could make recording and compiling the movie, but I would need somebody to help me in other areas, if we are going to get more movies.

Somebody (not Somebody, but just somebody) would need to make the manuscript and comments on the video. My manuscripts have this far been like this:

Lap X:
A overtakes B
C in accident

Lap Y:
B regains his position
D and E close racing

You got the point. Then When I start the replay, I read the manuscript and see what should be recorded. To write the manuscript you need statistics from the race and then the replay.

Then about comments. When writing the manuscript you can comment the event as well. You will probably have better humour that I do, so I hope the comments will be a bit funny sometimes.

Motivation to make these movies should be to show what great racing we have on dMr: how people don't give up if they lose their position; or like Trinidex, how you just keep on racing cleanly even though you are several laps behind; or dramatics like Haddock finally taking over Stoney and Altrezia after several laps of fighting, just to lose it in the next corner. With better comments and a bit shorter clips my latest movie would be so much better.

If anybody wants to help, I promise to make at least one more movie.

Sure, I can help. Just if there is any help I can give. You want me to check the replay?

Romus

deal. you make the manuscript and comments, and I'll do recording and putting it all together. I could use stage6.divx.com instead, to give better quality finish.

Doorman

Well done Paavo. Something to take your mind off being depressed. :D Good work guys, I love it!

Altrezia

This should be excellent - Looking forward to seeing the outcome!

I'm not sure if youtube shows the vids in anything else than the current crappy format. In that case you would need to put it here probably...

http://stage6.divx.com/LFS-Moviepits/videos/

The vids there look great, but downloading them take so long that I cannot watch them real time while downloading.

EDIT:
Would it be too much to put music there?
BTW: Have you seen the vid John Rees made some time ago about a dMr race?

Aha, for me that stage6 is as fast as youtube, and the quality is great. But it seems that many of those are 'movies' with a lot of skilled video editing. I'm not into that, I've just wanted to make a race report with a video. And music does not fit in that either, so I am not adding it. With my music taste it would get quite a strange.

My videos have had quite a bad quality on youtube partly because with Windows Movie Maker I cannot control the output parameters. This time I'm gonna try some shareware editor, most probably.

I haven't seen the John Rees video, if it was not the one you showed me from youtube.

Yes, I know most of the vids there are top quality. But I'm not expecting anything like that. I simply thought it would be a free host for the vid file.

I've understood the youtube crap quality is because it limits the quality somehow to ensure the small file size and fast download. So even if it would allow uploading stage6, you wouldn't get it look any better. I've heard that it doesn't help if you send there good quality because what you get back is not same.

Music...well I was just thinking some background music would brake the silence nicely. But it's you choise, do as you see it best.

Rees vids...there are some threads about them in the forum if you scroll this section down.

I sent the manuscript to Romus' PM box

Happy filming :)

Iron

Good job, I'm looking forward to it.

Well, it did not become so good, but I've uploaded it here anyways:

It's unfinished, but will remain like that. After last nights race I thought to make a new video, but wanted to get this out of my way first.

Doorman

For what it's worth, my hat's off to you. It must be a heck of a job to run through the replay dozens of time to get the best action. If LFS replays could be rewound, it would be an easier task, I've no doubt. :)
Until that day you can take a break. Good job.

Hey, hey...some nice XFG racing. Good time for the release as we have XFG again now :)

Even it is unfinished it is about gazillion times better than what I would have had patience to do.

One thing...how the heck my pit stop is so short in the vid even I had damage
