Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

From what Sheepy told me in chat last night it sounds to me like you folks are pretty close to a first kill.  The tricky bit of the fight is firstly the pull and then handling 5 targets simultaneously.  Your best attempt had 2 adds down with a 3rd add at 9%, so tbh that's the bulk of the fight down right there.  Once 3 adds are down you're left with a boss and a single add which is a heck of a lot easier fight!

Sounds like you had a great night, keep it up!  I'm sure another night like last night would yield some impressive results and possibly some Tier 4 shoulders.....

was a great attempt by all, we (the hunters + healer) found that the Grounding totem worked well against the Shaman FYI <3

Jim

read through that

"Having a Grace of Air totem on the Maulgar tank helps immensely: 5%-7% more Dodge is huge." Does that actually help, whats the point of Agi to Dodge ?

That is true for Druid tanks only (14,7agi/dodge), Warriors (just) get 2.5-3% dodge from GoA (30agi/dodge). But either way it helps a lot.

Btw, while tanking Olm together with Bastet we noticed the healer was struggling with keeping us up. However Olm's deathcoil doesn't break aggro, he just keeps hitting you. The last try I was there, I tanked him alone and Bastet healed as well; which went a lot better (apart from me dieing after being knocked into the air by something (wandering Kiggler?) which left me with about 2k HP after landing).

We could also use one or two of his enslaved pets on him, if possible.

And I have another question, why aren't we using a Druid tank on Maulgar? Druids take less and more consistant damage when it comes to melee. Additionally (considering current gear levels (Kara/Badges)) crushing blows don't do much more then a white hit on a Warrior either, so that's not a problem in this case.

Anyway, that's my perspective.

Sorry about the wandering Kiggler. It's realllly hard to keep him from wandering. Because he's ranged, he just won't follow us. We were thinking over maybe pulling him towards the entrance to keep his knockback way away from everyone.

Edit: And if we silence him, he hits us for 6k melee so we don't survive very long, and he ends up just running around again when his silence wears off. Really annoying

glenn

ur suppose to send in the felhunters after there enslaved they have a taunt that u use to take the aggro off the tank and then just let the felhunter die while tankin him and tank picks up aggro when he dies and wait for nxt to b summonded then let it tank him again
:)

Lucian

Silencing shot was also really useful for dealing with that prayer.

Yeah but who has silencing shot these days...........

No problem mate. The pulls are pretty chaotic for everyone. Olm was also causing me some grief with the positioning, since sometimes he just chain spams deathcoil (does he even have a cooldown on that thing?).

And aye, it's certainly a good idea for everyone to watch some video's and read up on the tactics, on both Maulgar and Gruul, before our next attempt. I kind of expected everyone to have done that already though  .
