so today i decided to spend a few hours testing this out with a m8 who bought it.
Right we loaded up the game and started the multiplayer session and waited for the dating, i mean matchmaking system to find us suitable players, which it didnt, lvl's could have been more spread rangeing from lowest to highest lvl..
Right game on.. So we sat there and ran around for a bit, things looked smooth the first min or so.. But then the evil p2p system hit like a hammer, everyone except the host had ofc the crap ping bar.. (note we were playing on my m8's line which is a 50/50Mbit) Lag became horrible, and then the host left, 20 sec pause... off we go again for a min the next host left.. waiting again..
this went on the for the next 10 mins with 6 different hosts.. horrible..

so lets see past the that experience, game itself.. Im hardly impressed by this game, controlls felt slow reacting, didnt get the fuzz about the graphics as they arent really that good.
and ofc the game is not balanced for lean.. damn i missed taht..

in my book the multiplayer failed..

So i spent the next hour trying the single player..
AI seemed mediocre at best, units often ending up running around doing stuff they really shouldnt.
Again graphics was to hyped.
Again NO LEAN.
Story was okay, but hardly validating the buy..

Honestly, it feels like IW ported COD4 to console, gave the graphics a minor overhaul, messed around with controlls, and ported it back to PC (ofc remembering to add mouse support)

Rating 3/10 mainly for single player being fair, but a game expected to be one of the best for multiplayer it fail miserably.

Satch is obviously playing MW2 and we as a community are not.
I explained it like it is NF...what's your problem?

Like I said, multiplayer feels completly different to COD4. It caters more for the old school style of run around alot with all guns blazing rather than the more strategic approach of COD4. So you're right there, it is more "solo" multiplayer than community. You can set up a party though and join different servers as one big group. Matchmaking is non-existant though and I have found myself slain by palyers in Spain when a lag spike hits. But that is just nit-picking tbf, its is rae, at least has been thus far.

As a whole Satch, whats the SP like? Better than the last or more of the same?

I think you miss the point Ninja.  The potential new member will never stumble across dMw as there cannot be a public dMw MW2 server, so there is no potential new member to be lost in the first place.

The fact that we cannot support (ie provide an admin'd server for) a game is not the same as whether or not people exercise their right to play it.  But let's be honest, if you cannot control who you play with how many potential new dMw members do you think you will obtain by being out there on the MW2 lobby?  Even if you meet someone real nice you'll struggle to meet up with that player again seeing as the lobby will match you up with a new group of people.

I think Blunt was just stating the facts.

That is fast work!  If only IW could make dedi servers as fast as these guys can hack IW net.  I wonder if the hackers will make a dedi server!!! :roflmao:

Nice work Activision. So you're going to put in complaints about every video showing the laggy crap that is the MW2 PC matchmaking system, and all the cheating already going on, to try and stop people finding out about it?

The matchmaking does indeed suck when you have people 20+ levels above the rest of the side dominating.

Though I've found them to be the ones who complain most when they get killed.

Personally, I think SP is better in MW2. The missions in Washington a bit dark and samey but other than that great fun. The vehicle levels work well and there is a good variety of stealth/action missions. Its over pretty quickly but the pace fits the story.

I bet it is a lot better and really fast good action. But really, a 60€ for 4,5h game which is basically without MP. In my eyes IW forgot pc players and should not get a message that we approve it. Or do we want all our games with under 5h gameplay and no MP + extra costs with DLC's ?

Pray what is this lean thing that is such a problem? Is it literally the ability to lean around corners?

Tutonic

Correct.

I can't understand why they've taken it out, it's not like they've replaced it with a different mechanic.

To be honest, I never leaned at all, probably why i kept dying a lot, so I genuinely wouldnt have noticed that one...

i never really thought about leaning much, but after trying MW2 i realised how much i really use the feature

I barely use Lean. It's only when I'm in cover that I can't quite see around. Still it makes no sense to remove it. Much like removing the console and support for dedicate servers makes no sense. If the engine was new I can understand things like this but with an "upgrade" from a game with these features I don't see why.

Still with the number of sales they've made they are obviously happy enough not to care about the pc market. Luckily there are enough games for us to be getting along with anyway.
