Quote from: DuVeL;282639Heya Ron, sorry to post here but as you know I'm not a racer but there are several progams that you can install to watch your temperature with computers and with them you can set temperatures and such so you're server wont go Awol. I'll see if I can dig them up should you need them.

Thanks Pete, it was just that it was very neglected little machine and needed a damned good blow through. The shite that came out of it was shameful.
I think I've got it under control now but thanks very much for your concern. I appreciate it. :)

Quote from: The Moose;282637Great fun tonight, it has to be said.  I needed the break from netKar to realise how bloody good it really is.  (excluding netcode of course )

Same here, came straight from a specracer race in Iracing and nKP really can compete with the best sims in my opinion (when it works offcourse ).

(nKP needs some laser scanned tracks  :))

So does anyone here have a good setup for this track (Silverstone)? I like the one I'm using well enough but it can't hurt to try some other ones eh.

Also, are you guys planning on doing the whole race on a single set of tyres? I'm not very familiar with the tyre wear in nkp so I don't know if that's realistic or not. Maybe if I have time later I can do a practice run of 13 laps and see how it goes.

I did a 2.06.9 with this setup, it's very stable after some practice http://www.wagenvoort.net/rank/setups.php?trackid=18&carid=22&driverid=

And I'm doing the whole race without a tire change, you're gonna notice some grip dropoff at the end of the race but if don't lockup to often or flatspot you'd be alright.

Added my set to the rank site as well.

As Katsu says..one set of tires is fine... I usually find the last 3 laps or so can get a bit slippy.

Quote from: obsolum;282238Lucky for us Moose hasn't signed up for this race, then :D

 lol...see you in there  :D

Any tips on how to brake with this setup? (Slam it, then ease off for example)
I tried it yesterday but maybe my braking style isn't suitable for you're setup, because is was really unstable breaking into corners. :g: (the back comes out, on second thought maybe I will have to downshift later because of changed gear ratios )

O yeah nice to see that you're able to join :)

I just brush the brakes and keep a little throttle on,then come off them slowly.

Exactly the same way as i drive the Spec Racer Ford.

It is a slightly nasty set for rear end twitchyness, but i find i get better turn in with it like that.  Though you can put money on me spinning it in the race tonight :D

Move the brake bias forward to around 60-62 and see if that helps, though this close to the race it's probably better if you stick to a set you're comfortable with.

D'oh! There goes my chance at winning this race

Yeah, I know, as if I ever really had a chance...

Not really had a great race yesterday.

In qualification I had had done two laps easy to get my tires up to temp, I then went into my final lap but I was very close to two other drivers and I thought ââ,¬ËœOh well if I get held up no problem, better luck next timeââ,¬â,,¢.

One of the cars in front was a wireframe blue box (model not loaded) From where I was driving it looked like he went off track and came back on the racing line trying to finish his lap. That's something I do not understand, if you're lap is dirty then get out of the way or at least off the racing line. I did hit him, gonna check the replay again, to seed what the exact situation was. If it turns out I was to impatient I will make an apology :)

So I decided to wait the remainder of the qualification out in the pits, changed my tires and loaded up fuel.

Right after the start I noticed that I had to held my wheel at a 20 degrees angle to steer straight :S i forgot to repair my car... Doh!

Cursing my way through the first two laps and then decided to exited to the pits, repaired my car and went out again.

Catched up too some people and going into the last lap I was in P4, just passing start finish I was distracted by the white flag and I Think my back wheel touched the grass that send me spinning off.

I lost two placed to Lojelo en Roelandt, managed to get back Roelandt by pressuring him into mistake, sorry about that :) And finished P5

Looking at my times, there where possibilities for a better result. Well again ââ,¬Ëœbetter luck next timeââ,¬â,,¢ :D

Oh btw I changed the bias to 60.5 and that helped a lot. :)

As for the race...

All went according to plan :)
Set a new WR in qual to put me on pole (pity the R2P server isn't hooked up to nKRank:rolleyes:) Got a clean start and drove a sensible pace to the finish. Great,if uneventful, start to the season.

I'll take uneventful over spinning out any day though :D

Don't forget, signups for the next two rounds are open already. Get yer names down.

Phew, thanks for the reminder. Already 11 entrants... I wonder how many people are actually going to show up this time :g:

I sent an email to Tim McArthur about nkpRank telling him how it worked and how much the nkp boys would appreciate it. I sent him the link for him to download it.
This was his reply

I tried last night but absolutely nothing comes up in the 'multiplayer' box when I run nKpro now. I think I've given up on this completely unless and until someone fixes the netcode properly.

See you in rFactor, especially the HistorX mod servers :D
aka Mark Turnbull in nKPro :)
