Strange. Mine downloaded the entire patch weeks ago and only took 20 minutes to apply it this morning before I went to work.

I thought the idea of the background downloader is that it downloads when the patch comes available so it is ready for patch day.

Does the time on things in AH still run if the servers are down?

Any why does it take them so long to apply a patch!! :doh:

Well as 99% of my addons are available on curse I installed their client and am currently giving that a go. Seems to work well and the addon descriptions are far better than wowmatrix so finding a new addon to install is really easy.

The only addons of mine that aren't on curse so need manually updating are the CT_ mods and Lightheaded.

I'm loathe to use the Curse client due to their less than stellar track record in keeping viruses/trojans at bay, has it improved?

Against my better judgement, I installed the client and now have a list of 62 addons which it initially matched, but after one install and a refresh now can;t find matches for any of them.  THis is going to take a long time to manually find and identify the addons seeing as it seems ot have 'lost' the addons it previously identified grrr......

There is an issue with wowmatrix and curse as mentioned on the first part.

It managed to match up 80% of mine when I done it and the ones it didn't I manually deleted the folder and then searched and re-installed from the curse client.

Worked a charm and now everything is good.

As far as viruses, I belive the curse website has measures in place to protect against that now due to the problem a few years ago.

That'll be several problems in the last 12 months iirc.  But I am talking about the Unidientified addons page.  It annoys me that it identifies 62 addons which it does nto know and provides a best match for, but when you select one ot install as per their guide and then refresh all of their best matches disappear.  My solution was to restore my backup addon folder then run the CurseClient again - this gave me the full list of unidentified addons again WITH best matches.

My next question is how to decline a 'best match' as it does nto seem at all obvious.  I have NeedToKnow installed and it thinks the best match is TellMeWhen.  And nowhere does it give an option to ignore that match.  So I am left with either 'Update all' or 62 individual 2 click installs to do.  But it does give me an option to uninstall an addon, which is great, why on earth would I want to uninstall an addon that I use just because it is not one they host?  Gib 'ignore this addon' button plz.

Sounds like that addon is not on curse, so just ignore it. It won't try to update. I have a couple still in my unidentified addons tab as mentioned above and they stay there quite happily. I just check them manually for updates.

However, if it is on curse and still won't match (I had a couple do that) the simplest way I found is to delete the folder manually, rescan in curse then install via curse. Worked great for me.
