Hi guys,
For the first time in a long while I visited your server (soz for tks guys ;) ) and I noticed some of you were having a problem with both your chat and after death camera locking up. I thought also had this problem and thought I would share with you what I did.

This problem manifests itself as a failure to activate chat and also your camera jams on your dead body.

I noticed at one time that the error message I recieved from trying to buy a weapon which was available to only my opposing team appeared half way through the round. This made me consider that the buyscript which is now built in was not closing properly. As you guys who write your own scripts are now aware the binds come as small ready made aliases now for simplicities sake. I personally think they are bugged.

My line in my userconfig.cfg was ...

alias mp "mp5; primammo; primammo; primammo; defuser"

With this line the bug occurs sometimes but not always. I altered the line to ensure the scripts were closed totally...

alias mp "mp5; primammo; primammo; primammo; defuser; slot10; slot10"

The problem has never reoccurred.

It should be noted that the close scripts built into 1.6 will also not operate properly if you use no buyscripts at all so the best way to solve this problem is to make some buyscripts or have some made for you.

Hope this helps some of you and Ill see you again sometime,

Arch

Good to see you back on the server Archer. I wasn't suffering from that but many thanks for the post. Those people who were suffering from it will, I'm sure, be grateful for the heads up.

I got into the habit of using a clm alias (stands for Close Menu) at the end of each buy line a while back and never really got out of the habit:

alias clm "slot10; wait; slot10"

then put

alias buyweaponx "weaponx; primammo; clm"

I suppose it is my stingy scottish nature to save a few bytes of code by not retyping unnecessary characters ;-)

Cheers anyway, see you back soon?
