Quoteoh, nvidia have just released the det 40 drivers. (win2k/XP only)

http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_40.41

ok, just tried these... the control panel kept crashing so I rolled back to the 29.42 drivers that have been great. (Rollback! One thing uncle Bill got right!!)

no what i mean is install det 40 drivers then un-install them through add/remove then reboot and install drivers again, then they work fine

UPDATE:-

As im having problems with the cards Gainward are sending me their top range 4600 with some 3D Glasses or sommat (dont know anything about these i can only assume there must be some games that are in 3D)

Lets hope this one is OK

Just a quick question... does anyone know of a setting in the bios that could mess with the memory on the graphics card as i am not looking forward to putting in my new card in and seeing it do it again and then find out some component/setting is fking around with the memory on the Gphx card.
I have turned the AA to basic instead of 4X or 2X and tried the app size at 64 and 128.
It isnt doing it to the (crappy) TNT riva or the hercules 3D prophet but this is higher memory than these 2.

BTW the new PC is a:-

Athlon 2000XP
Abit KX7-333 MB
512 ddr pc2700 (samsung Ram)
1X 80gig & 1X40gig hd's (both ibm)
cheiftech case(black no catho)
Creative 5.1 SC

only put this info to :-
A) see if anyone knows of concerns with any of these components
B)Update my sytem spec

aperture size should really be set to half of your installed system memory so you should use 256 as your aperture. My mobo will only go to 256 but I have 786mb ram so I set the app to 256  -  I get 100fps easily in CS at 1024x768 and 32bit with OpenGL. ...and that's on a PIII 1Ghz with a GF3 ti200

bought a GF4 420 today for £45 just to put in my old system as the 3D prophet doesnt seem to like XP too much and i have to say for the price the card is excellant if anyone is after a cheap Gphx card this one is for you.
It is a Gainward one and it was from a comp fair but it still gave a 3D Mark2001 score of 4520 which is pretty darn good.
Hopefully should get my 4600 tomorrow  :D
