After a pretty long time away from LFS I figured it was about time for a guest appearance. :D The LX4 was always among my favourite cars. I had a lot of fun during the week with some very good racing on the server!

I surprised myself by setting several PBs during quali, which earned me second spot on the grid, behind Venca. I managed to stay on his tail for a few laps before he slowly but steadily pulled away. By then I'd developed a quite comfortable gap to the guys behind, so I was pretty much just driving on my own for the rest of the race.

On lap 22 I guess I must have just clipped some tires in turn 1... I was so sure I had room but apparently I didn't! Caught me by surprise, so I kinda lost my rhythm and made a few more mistakes.. but I managed to keep my position till the end!

All in all a very nice week's racing. Thanks all! :flirty:

PS: could someone send me the replay please? I'd like to figure out what happened to me on lap 22!

EDIT: oooh, I see you're doing the RAC next week! I guess I'll be there. :D

Took up the rearguard. Now you may laugh, but there's a lot to be said for being tail end Charlie. First off, it's a great sight seeing 13 cars heading for turn one and wondering whether they'll all make it round safely. :norty: Some didn't and I made a few places. I know they'll be up my backside very soon so I prepared myself for some defensive driving. Had a nice few laps with Oliver but once he got by it was 'goodnight Brussels' :D
Anyway, another hour, another finish. Excellent stuff. :)

Mille Sabords

Missed it sadly - sure a fun combo - but compensated that with an excellent red wine.
Was there any close racing at all?

 :D

Checked this morning - you took too much kerb. If you hit the red/white rumble strip nothing happens, but if you hit the green kerb, the rear slides around.

Another great turn-out and some superb racing. The first lap was one of the most intense racing I've ever been part of.  I had a great battle with Oldie for several laps and later with Slider46. Thought I had ninth place with a few mins to go, but then changed down to 2nd in error on the long right before end of 2nd sector and let Obs through. Booger.
Close racing? How about Andy beating Sean to the line with 1/100th separating them after one hour? Dont come much closer. :D
Well done Venca, Gnomie and RobUK for their podiums and to everybody else who made this a most enjoyable race.
So enjoyable that I didnt drink a drop all race (honest).
Double booger and bar.

Ah, right.. Thanks for checking that out! I felt a very strong, sudden jolt through the wheel as it happened, which made me think I hit something. (Could be because of that plugin I'm using)

Anyway, moving on. :)

#5
Qualified 6th, had a good start and a great battle with Rob and Dee for the first two laps until 2nd gear didn't engage on  turn 4, which let them get away.  On lap 6 however, Dee had a moment which got me up to 5th, myself, Rob, Dee and Ed where all back close together.  Into turn 1 on the same lap myself and Dee had a bit of a shunt. No biggie, the racing  was very close, sorry to Ed who found me waddling across the track.  Back to seventh now with Ed behind and Ben in front. On the very same lap Ben lost it in a big way and I was up to sixth.  Hot on the heels of Dee once more, who was chasing Andy down.  Dee got passed Andy within a lap or two and I followed after.  Up to 5th again behind Dee and quite pleased with myself.

Things where going grand for the next few laps, then it all went "mammaries up" on lap 12.  I caught a bit of grass on the sweeping, flat out lefthander :taz:.  Rejoined in 9th ahead of LameDuck with Slider in front, put my head down and tried not to left the frustration ruin every following lap :).  Things  pretty much settled down then, did my pit stop at about 40 minutes and came out 8th behind Obs, who had yet to pit.

In the last 10 minutes Andy made his stop and came out 2 seconds ahead of me.  It was a great battle to the end. I closed up on him in the last couple of laps and tried to make a pass into t1, unfortunately we had a coming together and both spun, sorry Andy :/ .  We picked ourselves up and continued as we where before t1.  Andy however had spun on to the sand and had dirty tires giving bad understeer into one of the following corners.  I got passed but it was not to be as I made a balls of the last chicane on to the oval and he had the jump on me :) .  Great racing Andy.

Pretty hectic race looking back on it.  I can't say it was boring anyway, battles all the way through. :boxing:

Well done Venca, Gnomie and Rob! :yahoo:

Quali went OK and found myself in 8th.Race started & once again everyone was clean through T1 & T2:)Managed to get past 46 and tuck in behind jamin for a few laps until i managed to pass in on the inside in the last complex(unlucky Jamin running the wrong set:sad:)Then i was behind easyed,Seany & Dee for a good few laps until someone had a moment in T1 & as i came round the corner there were cars every where & i found a nice gap.All 3 got back past me until Seany caught the grass & span out:doh:
I pitted with just over 10 mins to go & rejoined in 6th place.Seany started eating into my lead on him & was soon bitting at my heels,as we croosed the line to start the last lap we were level,i went deep intoT1 & lost sight of Seany until we tangled & both span.I was in the kitty litter but got out OK and we both carried on.Seany took 6th back & i thought i had blown it but we both slid about coming out of the last corner & i managed to get a tow off Seany which helped me get past him just before we crossed the line:rolleyes:
Had great fun with this combo in the week but even more fun in the race:yahoo:

He was the Irish horse race commentator who spoke in a manic way. Someone did a great impression of him. "A brown horse followed by another brown horse and another brown horse is coming up on the rails" etc. Jeez! That was wasted!

Seany

ahh I guessed as much  , 'twas a bit race horseish alright :D

Deetz

Well I had a thoroughly enjoyable Christmas meal with work colligues, but this meant I had to miss one of my favourite cars, boo.

Congrats all who raced.

Catch you all soon. :thumb:
