really enjoyed my short time on tonight :)

still a lot to get used to but i really think i could get into this, thanks for looking after me toby :D

....1 question though, why cant i see the enemy when others can?, i tried the spacebar scan thing but still cant see any enemies  although i did pop one of them in the head when clearing a building, that was quite funny

I also enjoyed killing the bloke that stood infornt of me whilst i was healing Smilo, he should have gone to specsavers.....:boxing:

Yup, although maybe he was trying to plead with you to end the futile war and make peace.... rght up to the part where you shot him in the face.

Another way to see enemies is to check the map. Any baddies that we have spotted will be shown as red dots or icons on the main map.

I'm wondering about the use of Armour in the Domination maps. While I can understand that Domination with four players is a big ask, we did get smacked hard as soon as we appeared above the town. I'm trying to think of a way we could use the tanks more effectively. Is there any mileage in getting some anti tank troops closer to the town and taking out the armour first. Then we can role in tanks with some degree of safety. Obviously others have far more experience of this map than I do, but on the four or five times I've played it I've been tank driver. For such an impressive piece of hardware it doesn't seem to last very long or do much damage.

To be fair last night we rolled over the top and was picked up by a T-55 and then artilary, I think last night I was a little gun ho.  There is a lot of ways of doing, I think the best one when I was leading was getting lib to give use air support in the apache and taking out lots of Armor.

But vehicles full stop are just giant bullet/rpg/artillary/helicopter/A-10 magnets on both sides : )

It is normally RPG infantry that are the real problems as are they are more mobile, harder to spot and can be pretty much anywhere. There also tend to be a lot of them in towns.

Really hard to avoid the rockets too as by the time you have spotted them coming towards you its too late.

Ah OK. It's just that I've been tank driver on about four occasions and this is generally how it ends for me. Agreed last night was a bit special. I just have no idea how tanks are actually used in modern combat. Are they mobile gun platforms that move to a location and fire on a target like fixed artillery and then move on to the next location? I've even seen pictures of tanks that are dug in and covered in camo nets. Orr are they truly mobile platforms which never sit still for more than enough time to fire once. then they move on? I know as infantry we never spend long firing from the same position as the enemy can then get a bead on us. I wonder if this might be true for tanks as well?

I think it comes down to style of play. Maybe we should be using them more as support role, in when we see somethings big and armoured then bring up are own tin can of noise.

To summarise: modern tanks kick arse in open terrain, but they suck at urban combat (and are probably heavily reliant on friendly infantry to keep them alive). Therefore, us trying to take armour into an angry enemy town = bad idea.

Good game tonight guys :) getting a bit more used to it, i could do with a pointer about what weopones etc you need to take with you, mainly surface to air and the rockets that take out things within towns, i get a bit confused when people say there is a "(complicated name of a enemy threat goes here)" in the town take it out! lol

Much prefer Domination with Revive, alot more fun

Cheers all :D
