I'm getting the same old probs with BC2 that I've always had, Black screen on joining/new map.
But I got a new 1 tonight, half my screen was as if it was in shadow, it was a like ghost of the start up screen I reckon.
shame this game is so buggy still

IT'S weird Blunt. As I have yet to experience the same problems that you have. My gpu overheats once and a while but not black screens as much as you have had.

Perhaps it's a hardware issue?

Drivers update maybe?
Try DirectX new install.
What graphic card you use,i have read some forums and it seems lot off nividia users having the same prob.
When you are ingame and you get black screen try to Alt-Tab and again Alt-Tab this works for some also.
Also turn Bloom off.
