If it helps, target selection seems to make a difference to what you get paid.   Kill a low-ranked tank and you'll get less credits for the kill than the shell cost you.  Put the same shell into a top tier tank and you'll get your money back.  At least, that's what it seems to me.

#166
Example:

E75 tank
For match WIN: 55,260 credits
Less cost of:
Repair: 16,448
Resupply Ammo: 7,490
Resupply consumables: 6,000 (minor repair kit, minor first aid kit)

That's a net gain of 25,322 credits for a Tier 9 heavy tank in a winning battle.

Less cost of:
Repair: 16,751
Resupply Ammo: 11,340
Resupply consumables: 3,000 (minor repair kit, minor first aid kit)

That's a net gain of 9,539 credits for a Tier 9 tank destroyer in a losing battle.

Spotting the enemy, defending your base, capping and staying alive even if your team loses all earn lots of credits plus the first victory of the day in one tank doubles your credits for that game, so make sure that if you look like winning then go berserk and hit any enemy you see, then swap tanks to get the double points in that tank, etc. Tactics like hiding and letting the enemy cap your base up to 90+% then shoot at them to reset the timer can give loads of defense credits.

I'm going to start playing again just updating the game now

Apparently I'm boss of the dMw tank company, so if you're not already in it just give me a shout (dMwTealeaf) when you are online and I'll figure out how to do it!

I dunno how you manage it TL, seems no matter whether I win or lose with my E75 or the Tiger II before it I couldn't make money from it, the only thing that got me through the TII to the E75 was playing the russian tree & making cash there.

I've figured out why my results are so different.  I'd forgotten that I had purchased a month's premium membership which doubles your credit return.  So the non-premium result would have been:

E75 tank
For match WIN: 27,630 55,260 credits
net loss of 2,308 credits for a Tier 9 heavy tank in a winning battle.

Jagtiger tank destroyer
For match LOSS: 40,630 credits
net loss of 10,766 credits for a Tier 9 tank destroyer in a losing battle.

So you're right, higher tier tanks are more expensive, but then I could cut that loss and turn winning matches into profit by not using consumables (3000 credits per pop).  Apologies for my confusing examples, I had forgotten I had done a month's premium!

I'm not too sure how to progress with mine i still have Tier 1 tanks going up to Tier 3 tanks but I want to progress further but i'm not sure how, All the Tier 1 to 3 Tanks I have in the garage have elite status where the crew is trained to 75% But I want to progress onto the higher tiers how would I do this?.

Same as you have been doing - research all the parts you need to get to the next tank. Make sure you have enough silver and buy it... Is that what you meant? Personally I'd recommend you buy premium it will half the time you spend grinding the next tank. The real fun starts about Tier 5.

Dewey

To make money either:

Become a really good player do more damage you do the more silver you get - so the better you play the more you'll earn. HOwever you'll often still lose due to your team no matter how well you play.
Play lower levels and try and earn money with that to finance your higher tiers.
Stop being tight and buy premium but you've decided you'd rather not contribute.

The dMw Tank Company has a rather awesome clan logo (sourced from Frenzy's anniversary design), but due to WoT being plonkers you need to delete a bunch of files in order to actually see the logo.

If you want our logo to appear on your tank, please follow these instructions.

Quote1. Make sure you have exited out of World of Tanks (close the client completely, don't just log off the server)
2. Go to "My Computer"
3. Locate your C: drive and go into it (if you don't have a C: drive, use whatever drive you installed WoT into)
4. Go into the folder labeled "Users"
5. In the top left of the browser, you'll see the word 'organize'. Click that and a drop-down menu will appear.
Click 'folder and search options'. Go to the second tab (view). In the advanced settings under 'Hidden files and folders', click 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives.'
Click apply and then ok.
6. Go into the folder that has your name on it. (If in doubt, use the folder that you installed WoT on.)
7. Go into the "AppData" folder.
8. Go into the "Roaming" folder.
9. Go into the "wargaming.net" folder.
10. Go into the "WorldOfTanks" folder. (NOT the 'WoT' folder)
11. Go into the "custom_data" folder.
12. Once inside the custom data folder, several thousand files will appear (more or less depending on how long you have been playing WoT).
13. Click once on the top file (just highlight it) and press the Control key + A to select ALL of the files.
14. Right click and delete all of the files.
15. Once that "custom_data" folder is completely empty, you can exit out of the browser and restart your WoT client.
