I did email Asus. They were useless.

Thanks. A lot of that is irrelevant though as it happens on a clean install.

However, I think I might have solved it. I'm reluctant to say that because I've thought that before but I had a few games of bc2 last night and afterwards by CPU usage was back to 0%

I'm not sure what solved it as I've been messing about no end trying to desperately fix it. Probably either using the windows 7 audio driver rather than the one supplied on the Asus website. Or using the latest nforce chipset drivers from NVIDIA rather than the ones on the Asus website. The common denominator being not using drivers supplied by Asus for their own motherboard. Go figure.

now all you have to do is get your butt on bc2 and ts

Played it properly for the first time. 1080p and no stuttering and smooth fps. Dare I say it though, I'm wondering if I'll ever get used to mouse and keyboard. I find using the keyboard very difficult. Perhaps its true. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. :D

I always have to look down at the keyboard to find the right key. More times than not that gets me killed :D

i always leave my left hand on wasd for movement and right hand on the mouse you'll get use to it play a bit of single player to get useto the keys

Well that's it for me I'm afraid. I played BC2 last night, switched off my PC, switched it back on this evening and BC2 won't even start up. It just crashes on startup. I deleted all local content and then reinstalled. No difference.

The truth is I have absolutely zero interest in fixing this now. I have genuinely completely had it with PC gaming. I don't understand the fascination with it.

Gaming should be fun and a way of relieving stress but it is completely the opposite in my experience. I've gained new found love for consoles.

That's me done. No more moaning because I'm not going to have to any more.

Thanks for everyone's help over the weeks though.

Ive had this for a while to and the new patch that came a few days ago fixed it for me if you want to have another go at it :)
