Hmmmm looks like he may have ballsed it up after all - shame  :(  

Some more reviews of it here on AICN - 5 in all.  2 bad, 2 good-ish, one indifferent.

AVP: AICN

Seems like he was trying to re-write AVP: Prey but put it in a more contemporary context.  Shame, when the book is a nice little sci-fi read in it's own write and didn't need the apparent butchering that it got.
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better
