New hard drive needed !

ok, i`m using a velpociraptor 300g atm, but i require a larger HDD for more games, and i`m wondering what other  players use, and trust, as there`s some crap hard drives out there, which have got amazing reviews, yet perform cak !

so any ideas ? as i`m looking for a 1tb+ drive
 i`m basically looking for something like this, around the £100 mark, i can budget more, but i`m trying not to ...

Hard Drive prices are still pretty high due to flooding in Thailand (I think) where a lot of hard drives are manufactured.

Yes its all to do with the flood, But its is only components within the hard drive that is made there for all Brands. Hard drives prices will start to drop in April, I work for a computer distributor, we supply all major companies, and I see the prices slowly coming down... At last. For price and realibilty I would go for Samsung....,  But just to let you know   all 3Tb are still very unrealible and the moment, If there was a way of me getting you one,  I can get all computer components Cheaper.

It's very expensive for a 1TB drive, you'd be better off going for one of Seagate's Barracuda drives imo.

Had no issues at all over the 5 years of using this brand either (Had SATA1 in my old desktop) highly recommend

Crazy prices for drives, you could go for this and take out the drive if you didnt want to use it in a caddy.

That's a 5400rpm drive - the performance won't be great.

You've missed:

It's really not much better - it's still a 7200rpm drive at the end of the day.

You'd get better performance with two cheaper, smaller drives and putting them in a RAID 0 array.

I had that until recently when one of my samsung drives packed in. Now that I'm on one I honestly don't see the difference.
