Think I'm losing the will to live or need to find a different game.   16 or so rounds with zero kills and not surviving beyond the first 30 seconds of each the round is simply not fun.   Even when I hung back to avoid dying quickly, I got shot in the back of the head within the first 30 seconds by a rushing flanker whilst 25 yds from spawn . :sad:

I know my minority view is not the preferred style of play amongst the masses, but I do miss dMw's PCS/TCS days.  When everything is played matchplay-style the average (and worse) players just tend to die very quickly and spend their evenings spectating the better players.

These days struggling i to find time for a game when kids/wife/something else scary doesn't demand my attention. Id love not getting shot in the back But as you stated yourself, it thats what the masses want.

I for one would be happy to see the return of TCS I was quite surprised when I came back onboard to see how the game play had changed here.
But I guess enforcing it is the big thing.

Sorry that your experience was bad.

We've tried hard to attract new members to our server, and have reacted to the calls for a more 'competitive style' server.

1 AWP per side, dead-talk, 2 min rounds, less custom maps;

Those are the things that players were calling out for.

We try hard as admins to rein in spawn Rapers and griefers etc., we jump on suspected hackers etc.
And we try to encourage team play and objective based games (even though 'kill all' or ' bomb site/rescue hossie' are option's)But we can't guarantee that someone won't rush you up to catch you off guard (legit tactic) when you Are least expecting it.

We've had a pretty full server all evening, with mostly regulars, plus some soon-to-be regulars,

There's still a good feeling on the server that new players like.

With the given definition of TCS I don't see what else I can do.

Server seemed better last night. Was it the firewall settings change or had the server been rebooted?

The firewall was updated yesterday.

It did seem to run well; I didn't hear any 'lag' or 'fps' complaints.

FYI Whitey has put up a vanilla server @128 tick and from my brief test last night, it seems to run well.

At some point we'll try it with the mods and add-ons that we use on Boomer and see if they work ok.

If they do, we'll try going to 128 on Boomer
