I'm guessing that we'll be hearing something history making from the Curiosity Rover on Mars very soon..... :)

Ooh Smilo.. Do you have "inside" information?
Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.

I have to say that when I read that for the first time my curiosity was significantly piqued.  Can't wait to hear what they have to say!

I'm putting my bet on some form of evidence of amino acids or similar hinting at the presence of low level biological goings on and the whole "life on mars" sensationalism that will follow.

Can we keep this on topic please, we are in the seriously though forum. Sensible discussion about what the discovery might be and then about what it actually is.
The humorous ideas about the discovery are great but maybe should go in another thread. Thanks
:)

Can't help but think it's going to be something underwhelming, but I'm still intrigued.

I've been following Curiosity's Facebook page and the pictures its been beaming back from Mars are amazing.

My real bet is that they have discovered "organic molecules"
which isn't surprising as the galaxy is full of the stuff.
Expect to be underwhelmed
(I'd love it if it was something more exciting though)
:)

That or ancient fossil remains of some single celled creature. I'm hoping it's concrete proof that something is living or lived on Mars but I'm also ready to be underwhelmed.
