Over the last year it has become ever harder to find recruits to join our Raid Teams. The game is old, people get tired & leave and Aszune's population is getting ever smaller - we have already seen several big guilds transfer to other realms in search of a larger player base. The issue we have at the moment....RGW are struggling to field a full team. We have supported as much as possible but the fact is we have hit a point that the support will need to be constant to continue raiding. That means if we use members from RGT they will be raiding 5 nights/week which is too much to ask. Through various RL reasons over the last few days we have also been informed that more members will be unable to raid.

Im sure all will agree that you don't want to be spending the evenings trying to pug and your time could be better spent in more productive ways. That leads us with no option but to put RGW raiding on hold. We are looking into options to try and still support raiding for you guys but it may not be in the format you are used to or want:

1 Looking at a Friday social run
2 Filling any spots available for RGT as they come up
3 Merging RGW with another guild

The fact is any of these options will not be a perfect fix but for some it may be enough.

I'm sorry that we have hit the wall with attendance but its better to let you know asap rather than waste your time turning up for raids that are cancelled

I cant thank all you guys enough for your time and effort in keeping RGW moving. Its had a very good run and some huge achievements have been seen over that last few years but I'm afraid we need to call it. A special thanks to all the peeps who have been involved in running leading helping it over these last expansions I think we can be proud that we have had a stable team for so long when so many other guilds have fallen away.

Its time to think about what you want from wow and if we can support your needs.

Thanks again

Thanks for the fun the last 2 years, RGW members!

Ok, sad that it is happening but not really a surprise given the amount of "people" you see around the cities in game.

I will stick around and the points above is good enough for me.  As long as I can do a raid here and there I'm satisfied. And in that I count Old school. Like Ulduar, ICC or even....
wait for it...... Firelands
The best variant of third option is getting that guild in here ofc....

So that's my 2 cents on the matter.

Meh.

Gutted to see this.

Being with rgw from the start, give or take a few weeks, leading it myself and then help with others it is quite hard to see it end.

For now.

There is so much going on in guild and people's rl's it's become a struggle to get the team going. I believe it is only for the time being. I really hope it is!

I've just got in from work so need to sort my stuff out then I can add more.

Just want to says thanks to all that were with rgw and some of you I don't thank for the headaches you caused me :p mmm more likely the drink!

I really dont know what to say..

I was part of RGT for 2 years, then there was too many of the same tier in the raid, so i moved to RGT, i know it wasnt going to be easy, but i did it none the less..

To see it come this is,  with the raid group being disbanded due to lack of attendance, and the amount of people who have recently either stepped down of left is sad

I originally came to DMR to raid end game content, but it looks like that is on hold for now.
For me, raiding is a key part of the game, and if it comes to the point where cant raid, i`ll be either resurrecting a alt and focusing on it, or moving on.. simple as that for me really.

It wont happen straight away- i have a lot going on RL at the moment, with writing my thesis and 3 other assignments as well, fo i`ll be around for a few months yet, after that, i`ll look into it seriously.

I`m not denying that i would like my old raid slot bad, hell who wouldn't, but that would mean a great deal of other factors to be taking into account

Hope this isnt the end or RGW, as we had a unique thing, you know, the dude with the thing... past the first fox on the left...

I still remember first day I got accepted in RGW and raided with them:yahoo: that I told switch that RGW raiding concept is what everyone is looking for and its going to be a hell of a task to have it continue running:boxing:.
am really sorry to see this post:crying: but I really trust in the leaders of this community and their decisions and am sure that this is the best one.

if its up to me, then i think ill go with one of the following options if not all:
- Social and search for Friday raids.
- backup for RGT for whenever is needed.

I really don't want to think about going to another guild unless if DMR don't need social ranks anymore.

I think this is just a blip.

Yes the server is quiet, people falling out of live with the game etc.

We have enough people in the guild I believe to re-enlist to rgw.
It's something that we need to do and it will take time.

I've put alot of time into rgw and will help get it bk on track!

Sad to see . I am sure it's has been considered but RGW just raiding on 1 night Monday or Wednesday ? We all have Rl issues but if we concentrated attendance to 1 night maybe with a reduced squad it would be viable.

It's been a horrible conclusion to reach, but the Aszune population is almost entirely dead and is in desperate need of a merger or free realm transfer to another realm.   You can see the prime raid time activity levels at the moment for the below graph.

http://www.warcraftrealms.com/weeklyactivity.php?serverid=324&factionid=3

It gives you an idea of how few of each class there are knocking around each raid night in total across the whole server.   At the end of Tier 14 there were 61 Alliance raiding guilds registered on wowprogress and the above graph shows how few of each class there is go around.   Work out the average number of active players at L90 per class per guild and you can see why recruitment is such a total nightmare these days.

The graphs shows (although it is difficult to track some of the colours) that in March 2013 there were approximately the following number of active players per guild on Alliance:

1.6 Hunters
1.4 Druids, Mages, Paladins, Warriors
1.2 Death Knights, Priests
0.9 Rogues, Shaman, Warlocks

Most of these numbers have decreased over the past 12 months (ignoring the Panda launch spike) and are still dropping and that means trouble for recruitment.

I would like to say thank you all in RGW for the laughs and fun during the time I have been in there.
It has been very hard to get new players at the end and its sad that we had to do this.
Hope RGW get back up soon.

Sithvid

@ Tl could we swap the guild to another server?

Yes, but you need to look at the practicality.
There are 563 toons in the guild and each toon costs 20â,¬ or £15 to transfer.
That's a total cost to move the whole guild of  11260â,¬ or £8,445.
The average player in dMw has approximately 5 toons each, so each member would be asked to stump up 100â,¬ or £75 to complete the guild move.

You can see that with these costs we'd lose a whole bunch of people, which is why we'd rather have Blizzard do a free realm transfer, or better still for Aszune to become the destination realm for a free guild transfer offered to other realms.

And all of that ignores the fallout we'd get anyway from people who might have other friends here and decide to remain, or the apathy effect etc.

It really needs Blizzard to act, not us.
