That would be GTS ADY, second only to Niki after 12 races. What a great driver. Sry if i offended anyone, wasn't my intent.

Mille Sabords

Hi all, a quick post to inform you that I am currently out of hardware (the part I usually plug the wheel into is no more).
Nice timing, as I get to enjoy the sunny outside! I may get a replacement and start racing again by the end of august.
Enjoy your summer!

Jamin

Heya Mille, enjoy your summer too :D

Seany

Howdy Mille, see ya soon!

RLR Luchian

Hi guys,
I figured it's not the case (yet :P) for a new thread, I'm just throwing one idea on the table. Hypothetical discussion, at this point :).

I don't know how things are for you guys, but in our league, the participation in official races diminishes week after week. We are currently at the middle of our 8th season, and last week we were only 5 drivers in the starting block !!!
I know that, generally speaking, LFS is on a descendent line, but it still can be a lot of fun !

So, what I was thinking is why not join forces with a league/community that has the same racing style ?
What would be your thoughts for such a proposal ?

I must admit that our racing schedule and type is a bit.. different maybe, but I can assure it is fun ! (don't judge it by the presence :) ).

Here is some data:
  • Season length: 17 Rounds = 17 weeks
  • We have 2 seasons/year (1 starting in September, 1 starting in March)
  • Races take part every Sunday evening (18H30 UTC..if I'm not wrong in conversion)
  • One season = ONE car ! (or at most one class) ! (not that bad as it might sound actually) :)
  • Race format:
    • Quali 15 min or 30 min, depending on the track's length
    • Quick Race : 15 min
    • Main Race : 30 min (reversed grid for the first 8 pilots)

Whole event takes usually maximum 1h30, with the pauses and dead times included.

What it would take for this to succeed:

  • Enough interest both on your end, and "our" end (haven't yet discussed this with the guys << hence the hypothetical)
  • Finding the good racing hour that could arrange most of the drivers
  • Manage to harmonize both your current race schedule and ours: makes from the 2 >> just a common one
  • Agreeing on the format to apply
I can take care of the standings, I am doing it anyways currently.

Why YOU ? Glad you asked :)

  • I have already stated that you seem to defend the same principles in racing; not only beeing fast, but beeig respectful in the first place !
  • Your level seem close to ours; good balance between racing for fun and making fast lap times (good spread of skill, just like in our league)
  • We have already raced together once, and it was very pleasant (at least for me/us)

Please, discuss :).

Sportively,
Luchian

Jamin

Hi Luchian, we too are experiencing the decline in active racers (I'm  one of them), but between Deadmen and the Dominant monkeys, we have  enough to fill a week of racing with our Thursday evening 1hr race and  the Monkeys Sunday evening event, so I'm not sure there's enough space  for another weekly event. I could be wrong though, so if there's anyone  reading this thread that's interested, they should make a post showing  that interest

Of course, RLR are more than welcome to come and race the dmr's ..... if you think you're fast enough :narnar:

Seany

Hey Luchian, 'tis a nice idea and thanks for the kind words too :) .  I don't think I would be up for it though.  I have enough with our Thursday race and the Monkey's Sunday event.

Thanks for bringing the offer to us though!

RLR Luchian

Hey guys,
Actually my point would be to merge the 2 events : RLR's Sunday League Race with Monkey's Sunday Race ==> ONE common Sunday Race
With 2 simple endings: have more racers on the start grid and in the same time not to clutter one's weekly racing schedule :).

Anyways, I understand your point, just wanted to clarify mine :). Thanks for your thoughts.

Seany

Ahh yes sorry, I missed that when I first read over it :) .  I guess you will have to wait for one of the Monkeys to see what they say, though.
