Stansted is the closest (and probably cheapest) airport to fly to. As Pen says, from there you can grab a train to March (or Cambridge and Ely) where we can arrange a pickup.

I'm close to Stansted, so can do a pickup if needed - there will be a dedicated thread for this once Toby & Ninja open up the LAN for bookings, so I suggest you hold fire until then :)

I know many international members make it to the UK LAN and are successfully picked up by domestic members - and I'm sure that we'll work hard to make sure everyone is covered again for this LAN.

I personally take the view that any LAN attendee who has stumped up the cash to buy a flight (in addition to the normal LAN costs) has done enough to be offered a free lift to the hotel as I'm grateful that they're making the effort to attend and improve the quality of the event for everyone.   If they happen to buy me a pint to say thank you, or gift me a bottle of their local firewater etc, then that's a lovely bonus but it's neither an expectation nor condition of them getting a lift from me.

Forgot to add, being based in Milton Keynes I'm actually a lot closer to Luton, but I tend to do the Heathrow run and pick up a certain group of Norwegian renegades!   Quick stop for fish'n'chips in Watford and then onwards to the hotel.

You've definitely picked me up there once, though I've also walked from the station to the hotel with my stuff before ... that bit of march is eerily quiet and dark!

Already booked my flight :) Gonna be a bit early flights, but hopefully that goes well :p Guess there will be a separate thread for that as soon as the guys get on with the plans.

The drive from airport to the hotel is always great :) never had a problem (yet)! If you are driving with Pen you should know a Mc Donalds pitstop is advised so he can have his Mc Breakfast :P

Penfold

There's a lot to be said for a Sausage and Egg McMuffin and coffee when you're heading out to a LAN I'll have you know!

Milli

Never know - I might even make a reappearance this year.

I have to admit, that's one of my rituals as well. It's the only thing I ever eat from there and only when I'm on a long early drive. But I have a tea from home in the car.

I dont really understand why you have the bring stuff like this up ( Again ) Duvel. It has been a year and everyone moved on. This was the problem last year that you cant let things go!
But if things bother you this mutch you might be happy that most people you had problems with in the past are probably not going anyway, so you can have fun at the lan. which ever one you decide to go to :)
