I've added about 4 formas over the past few days, might add another one soon.

I noticed the forma donations yesterday, thanks for the help.

The forma requirements for the labs should be covered when the bypass corridors I built get destroyed; they should be able to be dismantled once the outer hall is complete.  There won't be enough to build the reactor level though.

Oh, and if someone wants a specific large garden to play in, I can queue them up and decorate them with whatever you want.

Having some issues with deleting the corridor.  Submitted a ticket, so hopefully I'll get some info.

I donated 2 forma for the other 2 labs that were waiting for them. Good work everyone, lots of very kind donations. We should have a few in the vault for future use once these corridors have been removed.

Seems every room in the Dojo is a child of the bypass corridor lol!

Yeah, that child/parent relationship isn't working as intended.  Any corridor connected to a hall which is made spawn point should remove the hall from any parent relations it had, yet that's not working.

Have been talking to support, yet their answers aren't making any sense.

This is where I'm at right now.  Making the end hall the spawn room disassociates it from the corridor parent, yet that isn't working; leading to the problem.

In regards to your reactor question, yes there are some rooms with vertical space requirements that can prevent building rooms both above or below them (the Observatory is the worst offender in this regard). It is true that making a room a Spawn Point re-arranges the parent-child relationship so that the spawn room has no parent, however this will not make it so that the corridors you mentioned could be destroyed...they will still have their own parents. The safest thing to do in order to take new spawn rooms out of parent-child equation and keep things simple, is to set your Spawn Room back to your starting Clan Hall, but this does not necessarily mean you will be able to destroy rooms you could not previously, it should just make the parent-child relationships more readily apparent and straightforward.

Dear Matt,
I am aware of the Parent/Child concept, yet the Dojo information article on ZenDesk also says that if a child room is made a spawn point, then said room is not considered a child any more, and has no parent.
Quote: "Note: When you change the spawn room in your dojo this will alter the Parent-Child relationships of your rooms so that the new Spawn room is essentially considered the "starting room" for the whole of the dojo and will therefore have no parent. If you are having trouble destroying a room and the child rooms being called out by the UI appear to be incorrect, make sure you are not attempting to destroy your dojo's Spawn Room and if you are, try switching the Spawn Room back to your starting Clan Hall is possible (or another room if not), and try again."
The issue is that I'm doing what the guide is saying, yet it's not working. So unless I'm interpreting clear instructions wrong, its safe to assume that something in the Child/Parent logic isn't working right.
Re: Reactor - So different floors do not provide enough space between areas to cover all the possible vertical needs of rooms?
Thanks,LydonB

Hi LydonB,
The reactor has larger than average vertical space requirements and can be blocked by other rooms with similarly large vertical space requirements, particularly the Observatory. Keep in mind that the Parent/Child relationships are formed when you use an open building node to build a new room - this new room becomes the "Child" of the original room (and that original room becomes the "Parent" room). In order to destroy the original (Parent) room now, the new (Child) room must be destroyed first. It is a good idea to keep the Parent/Child relationship in mind when building your dojo as destroying a specific room in the chain could require the destruction of a large number of "Child" rooms first. If you attempt to destroy a room that has a child, you will receive an error that informs you the room still has a child room that must be destroyed first. Access redundancies have no effect on the parent/child relationships between rooms.

Can we try setting the spawn room back to default? Also not having a Trading Post in the new room is inconvenient. I had to run through the dojo to sell some stuff yesterday and the buyer almost lost patience by the time I invited him.

I did, didn't work.  Even tried the grandest hall, same issue.

We can just build another post, or set the spawn point back to default until this issue is fixed; hopefully without having to destroy half the bloody upper floor.

I destroyed the bypass corridors.....started 3 lab builds......and started the Grandest Hall Build. I hope that was the plan. I know you tried to get the Grand and Grandest Halls in a different order but that broke the dojo so I suppose we just have to settle for it being the other way around.
Cheers, Bert

Gorion

Yep, that was the only option left.

I thought the grander hall still needed more time to finish.  Also have to move the observatory farther out so hopefully we can finish the reactor floor.

The assault course overlaps with the reactor floor by two square so I'll fit in 2 gardens in a line so there are side rooms for small expansion if needed. The observatory needs moved 1 block further out than it is today so again another garden. I'll destroy the course/ observatory and build the reactors first that way it won't let us put the big rooms back if they don't fit in with the reactor needs.

Ok folks,

Once the Grandest Hall is rebuild later today the final Orokin and Tenno Labs will be readded. A trading post will be added near a Spawn Point in one of the Halls.

We will have about 6 reactors, an observatory and an assault course that need Formas. Once the last 2 labs are being built please contribute at the reactor floor. Thanks Bert

Was planning to add a long corridor instead; might remove the end garden and just have long corridors - faster to fly roll forward.

I was thinking expansion sideways with the garden. And a sort of nice entry hall before the observatory.

Can't envision what you're saying mate.  Just push farther ahead and it should solve the issue.

Currently I'm heavily loaded with exams and assignments, so I doubt I'll be on before Saturday of next week.
