Comic-Con last week supplied some sweet news, as Babylon 5's Michael Straczynski announced that he was working on a big-screen film version of his brilliant mid-nineties TV series.

I have the original TV series and films on DVD, so I'll be stoked if we get a quality film out of a Babylon 5 reboot.

the series was great. a movie now is a bit too late, ain't it?

Well they've already done a bunch of movies, this would be a film reboot of the series.   It never real got the exposure it deserved when released, if they do it well then perhaps it will create an appropriate stir.

If they do it like the Batman reboot and Battlestar Galactica it would work, although BG maybe isn't a fair comparison as the original was horrific. Anything would have been an improvement. Then again it could be infinitely worse in a Star Wars 1 - 3 kind of way.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Awesome TV show, it's not aged terribly well though - dodgy early CG doesn't help.

Definitely worth a watch if it gets the budget, cast and talent it deserves.
