As much as we hate it fishing has to be done sooner or later and i've got the lvl 3 shack now just wanted to share a few tips....

The fish now are zone specific, you wont find any others in 1 zone.
There are 2 fish that this rule doesnt apply too....Sea scorpions and crescent saberfish.....SS can be found in all areas in the sea and CS are the new golden carp, they can be caught anywhere.

Reasons to fish:

  • Lvl 3 blueprints
  • Cooking
  • First aid
  • Pets and mounts
  • Achievments

You have to catch 100 enormous versions of all the fish except for the crescent saberfish.

Heres the tip to quick fishing....USE BAIT! You dont have to fish from pools anymore, you can go to the zone and just cast into the lake/river and after a few casts you will get the bait for the fish in the area. Add that to your pole and your good to go! So you dont have to run arround engaging mobs you just find a nice quiet spot and fish away!

It is best as always to fish using any +fishing buffs you can...so hats, poles, lures etc. When you are fishing in draenor you can fish up multiple items that help.

As you start off you will catch a few small and medium fish but you are after enormous so thats why you want to use all the +fishing buffs possible to make it quicker!

Jawless skulker - found in gorgrond - if you take the FP to Wildwood Wash, there is a lake right there and no mobs to fight.

Fire Ammonite - found in Frostfire ridge - take FP to Slag mines and head east to colossal's fall, there is a tiny lake with a couple mobs. no pools spawn here but i fished the 100 fish in about 40mins here.

Fat Sleeper - found in nagrand - FP to throne of elements and fish right there...you get a couple of pools but use your bait!

Blackwater whiptail - found in Talador - FP to Shatt city and head SE to the spire of light to a tiny lake with loads of pools that respawn quickly.

Blind Lake Sturgeon - Shadowmoon valley - there is a small lake about 1 min run from the garrison SE.

Abyssal gulper eel - Spires of arak - FP to crows crook and there is water all around you !

Sea scorpion - Anywhere where there is sea but the best place i found was spires of arak - FP to Pinchwhistle gear works and follow the coast north, lots of pools and use bait!

I suggest these places as they are quick to get to from flight paths, have little or no mobs around so makes it alot easier!

Enjoy !

I caught Old Ironjaw and Old Crafty.
Biggest waste of time ever.
So no, I disagree with the "has to be done" part :P

Another tip...If you use the bait that you catch for a specific fish then you can catch them all in your garrison pond.  It seems to drop more of the bait for that type of fish before you run out.  I did do the rounds originally to get the different bait but now I just do the daily right beside the quest giver! :)

Until you get lvl 3 blueprints for the fish shack you can only catch small and medium in the garrison...

So you will need to venture out into the wilds!

I won't spoil it but once you've caught all your fish and upgraded to lvl 3 you might get a visit from Nat pagel ;)

Once you have completed the above you can then fish up a special variety of fish called xxname of fishxx Lurker from the above mentioned locations.

Lurkers will get you a Nat Pagle lucky coin which you can trade for Nat rep and goodies, you can only fish up and hold in your inv 5 of any one kind of Lurker and when fishing for Lurkers bait for that specific type of fish is not mandatory (but if you don't use it you'll mostly be pulling out useless Cresent Saberfishfish).

You can't catch Lurkers from your Garrison waters but you can catch Lunarfall Carp which will summon a muloc type creature that you fight for goodies !

One thing worth mentioning is that Nat MUST be assigned to your lvl 3 shack or no Lurkers !
