Finally after 18 months I've managed to get my local amazing micro-brewery
http://www.jopenkerk.nl/en/ to deliver a pipe right into my home!

Their plumbers spent 8 hours yesterday installing the necessary infrastructure but in the end they couldn't quite make the last few feet so I said look do what needs to be done to get me my beer!

Actually you don't. The real story is my mains water pipe had a leak in the ground just outside our property front border. The Water company swapped the old pipe for that tube you see in my letterbox. They couldn't complete the work due to needing a specialist drilling machine to make a hole through the foundation rock. So in order to have running water until tomorrow they fed the pipe through our letter box and into the water cavity where the pipes all meet.

I was impressed by their work ethic, they tried real hard to get the thing all done in one day but had to give up eventually and they came up with a way to still give us water.
