Apparently, some dev mistakenly aired a partial CDN link.

Some guy figured out the rest and 48GB of assets were leaked.

Anyhow, this url contains pics of a bunch of ship assets which we haven't seen yet, including the largest ship in the SC universe.

That retribution is bloody massive.

Not sure if you've seen it but there are a lot of images out there now of some stunning star citizen assets after a bit of a gaff by Disco Lando, feel sorry for the guy and hope he doesn't get in any trouble for it if you don't mind spoiler then go here or just google it.

Yeah, I wouldn't put the blame on Lando myself, after all, all he did was post a WIP picture. If anyone is to blame its the guys I charge of the internal network security for whoever is administering their CDN.

Nah, I don't believe it was done on purpose. I hear that the download contained some unsecured source code for the CryEngine which, if true, means that CIG could be wide open for a law suit!

Added to that, the reworked star map containing all of the systems, including the hidden ones, was also in the stolen data and has been posted up, so they may have to go back and rework it for a second time!

Lawsuit. Bad. Very bad. But since cig are basically their largest investor/advertiser at the moment I think it would be counter productive for them. Let's hope so anyway.
