Yep, it's for Concierge members only I'm afraid.

Theres been a bit of fuss on the CIG forums (that's new!) with people complaining that Concierges, or orgs with a concierge member, can Simon,y buy loads of cards for their friends and they and their friends can all get VIP entry to events.

This is not true: only Concierge members who have purchased a card will get the invites and their name on the door list. Not concierge, or concierge without a card? You don't get an invite.

My issue is I've gone past the mark for concierge months ago and never seen a change in status. I ticketed it 2 weeks ago. Their support is really lacking people I think.

Hmmm... That is quite bad. Is there any info on what actually counts?

Every post with admins responding in the forums suggests the total amount on your account is what counts. I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise. I totaled up my pledge amount and there is nothing in there that corresponds with ships bought from other players and gifted. When I melted a connie and bought a Hull C it came up as zero spent so nothing unexpected there.

When you say 'status', to what are you referring?

The only visible difference I think there is, is that the Concierge button lights up in 'My Account'.

Could you already be Concierge but just didn't know it?

I hit concierge a couple of weeks ago. The change was immediate. I could access the concierge forum and the concierge button on my account became active. I haven't gifted or received anything so all my purchases are still on my account.

albert

The button is not illuminated. I was expecting that to happen when I passed the required pledge amount. That happened 2-3 months ago.

I must admit I'm considering selling my larger LTI ships and cancelling my monthly subscription. It's not that I don't believe in the project, it's awesome but I feel uncomfortable with my investment right now and I can play the game with one or two ships rather than 6. The lack of customer support is also a factor. I've politely chased it and still no reply.

Wrt customer service, they are running a couple of weeks behind because they are swamped with support tickets right now, and have asked that people don't resubmit tickets as they simply add to the workload.

Apparently they are working through them in the order they were submitted, and will treat them as of the date they were submitted so as not to disadvantage anybody.

So I would suggest a little more patience on that front.  But if you want to sell some ships, I'm sure that you could find a good home for them quite easily.

I know they are busy, they like to communicate that which is great but I spend less on my travel ticket to work each year than I have on the game and despite being a "believer" (maybe not as hardcore as some) I normally get a response from NS the train operator here if I feel their trains are too congested and want to complain.

It's just disappointing given they 1) released an exclusive item that 2) required certain status with 3) not enough support staff or foresight to predict that a lot of tickets would be raised as a result and 4) disappoint people like me who are normally patient and calm about these things. I lose out because of their administrative oversight of my account status and their lack of customer support timeliness.

Can't you see why I would be disappointed? This isn't about my impatience. Selling ships is a separate matter only fueled by situations such as this.

Oh, I can definitely understand why you're disappointed.  My 'patience' point was more about waiting for the backlog, but I also understand the frustration of waiting on what would seem to be a simple answer to an easy question.

If you do qualify for Concierge, I'm sure they'll add you to the list so that you don't miss out on getting a card.

albert

I got a result in the end for my concierge status. Still asking if there is something they can do about the black card being restricted due to incorrect status.

Good news! Fingers crossed on the card front.
