For patch 2.1:

  • Freelancer will be flight ready.
  • Sabre will be hangar-ready.

RogueTaylor

Can't wait for that sexy sabre and the javelin is HUGE!!! And looks so good so far

Kal-Nor

Going to watch this now. Just seen pictures of the Starfarer and Freelancer and I have to say I'm really happy.  Apart from the side guns on the lancer which look awful, I'm looking forward to seeing both these ships in 2.1. Although the Carrack is my fav, the Misc ship style for me is perfect.

TeaLeaf

That Starfarer........I can't wait to see mine in hangar now!  It looks superb!

A new corvette?  The next concept ship.  Can't wait to see that, they knocked the Idris and the Javelin out of the park imo and it will be nice to see something drop into the originally intended 'corvette' class given that the Idris is now big enough to be a frigate.

(and yes, I'm watching the remainder of the live stream with breakfast).

Nice tech note:  all the servers are currently spun up in the US, so performance for rest of the world will improve once they distribute the computing into the local regions.

CIG visiting Gamescon 2016 (Cologne - 18.-21.08.2016).   I sense the emerging presence of an idea for a DMW trip in someone's mind.

what would you say is the best/ personal favorite freelancer model ?? looking at maybe upgrading to one possibly

TeaLeaf

For me, the Freelancer MIS.   I'm not the most agile dog-fighting warrior, I'm more of a 'sit at the back and shoot missiles at you from behind our front lines' kinda guy.

It depends on your area of interest. If you want exploration then go with the DUR, if you want cargo then go MAX, and if you want a torpedo boat, go MIS. At the heart of the ship it's a mercantile blockade runner, it's to get you in/out of situations quickly. Most pure trucker types who fly in safe space for profit will pick up a Hull A or B, the freelancer is more edgy than that. The standard ship will keep you middle of the road and you could always upgrade later.

But remember that the stats are wrong on this ship. It's going to get bigger (and better). From my point of view I bought the DUR, it's my single player explorer for me that has a decent cargo space. Also it's now back on the table as a ship that can jump into the smallest jump points.

well a lot of my ships are based mostly on combat, i like the idea of being support or maybe a bounty hunter in the game but i will mold myself around you lot and who i play with to make it more fun and interesting for me. I just brought my first exploring ship which was the Constellation Aquila,  love ther look of it and it should be fun to go exploring with other people, so really not to sure.
