Hi guys,

I'm having a dilemma here. I want to buy 1 game on sale, but I can't choose between GTA V or Battlefield 1.

What game should I get and why?

I played GTA V offline the story mode. And I liked it.

I'll assume you mean you played gta 4 and liked it.. in which case get gta 5 and enjoy the ride. It offers much much more playtime than EAs cash cow.

No I played GTA V, (the pirate version). I didn't play it online.

You're asking about two entirely different games, so it's not easy to recommend one over the other. It's a bit like asking if you should get FIFA or Doom...

One's a multiplayer FPS, the other a sandbox driving/heist game.... Out of those two genres, which do you prefer?

Well.. personally I don't like the online for GTA too much, I prefer it as a single player game. So I wouldn't really recommend getting it just for the online - but as I said that is a personal thing (although I will add there aren't many in dMw that actively play it anymore).

I tried to write here how this means I suggest Battlefield 1, but my wallet got up and beat me half to death when I tried, so... I am sure BF1 looks shiny and has horses and guns and will provide you with a few hours of entertainment before the EA pop-up asks for another £5,000 to continue playing the rest of the game as premium DLC.

(I don't like EA).

If you like the Battlefield games BF1 is a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. Its definitely the best yet. The premium pass will add £40 to your game price if you want the full deal ( no premium content till March) but I'm 45 hours in and totally loving it.

why should I go premium?

Until they start releasing the new map packs, there isn't much purpose in buying the Premium/season pass. Plus since the people who play a lot of Battlefield will almost certainly have premium, it makes the whole 'Priority Queueing' a bit pointless (that might not actually be a thing anymore, can any DMW BF players clarify?)

And definitely NOT here.

Basically Premium is a cheaper method of getting all the chargeable content EA will release for BF1.  I think it's going to be 16 new maps a couple of new game modes, a few new weapons and some new armies ( Russia for one). The first is coming out in March and it's normally every few months after that. Not sure whether
priority queuing is still a thing TBH.
