I am so sorry to hear this Jack. Pete was so awesome and I remember playing & chatting for so many years, this community has helped me develop into the person I am today, while life has got busier and busier and you have less time for friends its important to take the time to reflect, life is about all these moments where people touch your journey.

The LAN's were so much fun, chatting, playing and drinking, it really was something that a lot of people don't get to experience and I am glad we all had that experience together. Much love, sleep well my friend, until we meet again, Dominic x.

Hey Tox,

I'm really sorry to hear this news mate, my deepest condolences to you and your family. As others have mentioned, Blunt was an incredible person with a fantastic character. I feel so fortunate to have met him and to have spent many, many hours playing games together. I've been reminiscing about the great nights we had on the dMw servers and will always cherish those memories. He was such a great guy and will be sorely missed.

Reach out if you want a chat or some friendly banter and some gaming, we're always here.

Regards,

albert

Our condolences Tox. Your Dad was a dMw Legend and I'm proud to have known him. Sterk as we say in the Netherlands.
Cheers, Bert

Hi Jack,

I am really sad to hear your bad news. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Pete was an absolute rock in the dMw community and was a driving force behind maintaining the Counter Strike community. His updates as CS Game Leader at the LAN Council meetings were typically " CS is doing great, everyone is happy, no problems to report, who wants a beer?" A testament to his leadership and enthusiasm for the game.

An enduring memory is of him winning one of the early LAN poker nights. He confided in me the next morning that he was so drunk while winning the tournament, that he didn't actually know what card game he was playing!

A true gent and I will miss him dearly.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

I dont visit here much (seems not many do now), but every couple of months I come for the reminisce and the warm feeling reading some of the old CS/CS posts brings, there wont be any warm fuzzy feelings tonight sadly, but there will be a tear and memories of thinking "I wish Blunt would F off and stop killing me with that AUG"

I am so sorry to hear. My condolences to you all.

I have great memories of Blunt at LANs, as well as from in-game, for me particularly from some epic BF2 battles some ~20 years ago. Blunt was the best medic of all, constantly jumping into line of fire and keeping his team alive. Much more so than any other player. In ways, that says it all.

Thanks for the kind messages everyone. Lovely to hear from you all and hear some great stories.

Below is the funeral notice and details for donations.

Of course you would be more than welcome to the funeral but obviously quite a trek for most of you!

Cheers

Thanks Tox. I've shared the above around the community discord, I'm sure many will want to show some support to you and your family in memory of your dad.

Really sad news.  I think Blunt was the first person I got chatting to when I discovered dMw (apart from my brother), he introduced me to CSGO.  He'll be sorely missed.

My condolences to you and the family.
