Quick question about Phd, is it a Masters with several years research? Or do you still "learn" stuff?

What is next? Who knows? Into the great wide open as Tom Petty sings. I have applied for a job at ABB (heard nothing yet) and also I maybe have a postdoc going in Gothenburg (Sweden) at the University there. If I don't find any job then I will go for a writers school in September. The writers school focuses on textbooks and that would be interesting to learn more about. Still ... no rock solid plans yet. I still have a salary until 1 February 2005 at the department.
