Benny

The answer, my agitated friend is 1. At least the answer to the original riddle that hasn't been butchered.

Unless you mean 4801 unless my maths is screwed, however I'll wait with baited breath for you to regain control of your temper and let me know.

However, in light of community spirit I apologise for offending you by replying, and leave you with this.

here i got a new one , and i will think about your benny , it sounds like beeing a shoe but i am not sure

Three friends check into a motel for the night and the clerk tells them the bill is $30, payable in advance.  So, they each pay the clerk $10 and go to their room.  A few minutes later, the clerk realizes he has made an error and overcharged the trio by $5.  He asks the bellhop to return $5 to the 3 friends who had just checked in.  The bellhop sees this as an opportunity to make $2 as he reasons that the three friends would have a tough time dividing $5 evenly among them; so he decides to tell them that the clerk made a mistake of only $3, giving a dollar back to each of the friends.  He pockets the leftover $2 and goes home for the day!  Now, each of the three friends gets a dollar back, thus they each paid $9 for the room which is a total of $27 for the night.  We know the bellhop pocketed $2 and adding that to the $27, you get $29, not $30 which was originally spent.  Where did the other dollar go????

lets see if anyone can take on this one :)

$2 of the $27 that the friends have paid is the money the bellhop steals. They get back the other $3, which is still a total of $30, so no money is lost.

Friends give hotel $30, but rooms actually cost $25
Hotel Returns $3
Therefore friends actually paid $27 ($9 each)
And bellhop pockets $2 leaving the hotel with $25

The original $30 is split like so:
Bellhop $2
Friends $3
Hotel $25
All accounted for...

I still need to argue this one :)

Quote'As I was going to St Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks
Each sack had seven cats
How many were going to St Ives'

I went to St Ives.
On my way i met a man with seven wives, these seven wives had seven sacks and each sack had seven cats. Which doesn't actually matter.
I only MET the man and his wives on the way.
I was the only one actually going to St Ives.
So infact it is, only one.  ME
