If you never agreed with me before on a film review, then try to forget the past and go watch this  

Simply fantastic - the best summer blockbuster I can remember seeing in the last ten years.  No hype, no hyperbole.  Simply fantastic.

Beats the hell out of great films in the genre like X-Men and Spiderman.  They were good.  This is great.

Not just a comic book / super hero story.  This is actually a great film without all the crap that goes with that genre.  I though I liked the original Batman (the 1989 one) from Tim Burton (the sequels suck imo) but this is just ten times better.  In fact, the film deliberately avoids fitting into those films, going so far as to be true to the comics and indirectly criticising the crap that has proceeded it by bringing back some classic villains and rewriting the origins of Batman.

Superbly written and imagined characters played out by great actors who aren't trying to grab every second of screen time.  Not one of them lets you down, and Bale's performance is up there with the intensity of American Psycho's Patrick Bateman.

Plus there is very little discernible CGI, but still looks gorgeous.  Kind of makes a mockery out of The Matrix and Star Wars films when you think what the Director, Chris Nolan (Memento, Insomnia) has achieved here.

i do agree, saw it last thursday and its a great film with some funny parts in it  :happy:  top class, cant wait for the next one with the joker  :happy:

Watched it and loved it. Probably the best Batman movie so far. I wished it had been even longer. Quality stuff! :thumbsup2:
